Maybe worth part of a challenge "unusual patterns"? xitter.cf/japan_nobunaga/status/…
American news networks almost never mention it, but ask any U.S. soldier or Marine who flew into Baghdad between 2004 and 2008 about the sky-blue Japanese C-130s. During the height of the Iraq War, roads around Baghdad were packed with roadside bombs. Every time U.S. troops moved by truck convoy, young Americans died. They desperately needed air transport. Japan's constitution forbade its military from firing a single bullet in offensive combat. Critics said Japan would stay home. Instead, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force sent its C-130H Hercules transport crews straight into the fire. Why did the Japanese paint their cargo planes pale sky-blue? Because insurgent snipers and shoulder-fired missile teams were waiting around Baghdad International Airport. Since the Japanese crews carried no offensive weapons, they painted their planes the exact color of the desert sky so gunners on the ground could not lock onto them with the naked eye. To dodge surface-to-air missiles, those Japanese pilots flew directly over the airfield at high altitude, chopped the throttle, and dove straight down in a violent corkscrew spiral onto the tarmac. For four years and nine months, Japan's blue C-130s flew 821 mission days. They carried 673 tons of supplies and transported 46,500 U.S. and coalition troops safely out of harm's way without losing a single life. American GIs called them the Baghdad Express. A warrior does not need to fire a rifle to save his friend. Sometimes he just needs to paint his wings the color of the sky and dive into the storm.

#JFFCancerResearch Challenger II, /35, Tamiya WIP I'll never get used to the fact that some Tamiya tanks (Gepard, Abrams, Challenger) have β€œopen” wheel housings, unlike Trumpeter and RFM. OK, you won't notice it afterward, but I know!

Bought some transparant tape in different colours to use on transparant parts like windows and persicopes instead of clear paints.

I would appreciate reposts of the post below. We are only 25 percent away from reaching our goal of 100k
If you want to support a real humanitarian effort, this is your chance. Please help us get there, donate, like, comment, and share. I'm raising money to send excavators to Ukraine. These machines help build protective shelters against Russian missiles and drones. They save lives. Real human lives. If you found Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff calling Putin a "humanitarian" absolutely disgusting, I have a REAL humanitarian mission you can support. While Witkoff praises Putin, Ukrainians are fighting to survive the missiles and drones Russia sends at them every single day. Your donation won't stop this war tomorrow. But it can make an immediate difference between life and death for Ukrainians on the ground. Our goal is $100,000, and we're already 75% of the way there. Just $25,000 left. Every donation, every like, every comment, and every share brings us closer to protecting more Ukrainian lives. donation link: givebutter.com/liberty-engin…

So help me out! Which brand of CA glue do you recommend? I've used Tamiya, Zap-a-Gap, Green Stuff World, Loctite, and VMS. They do the job, but none of them are easy to use. I'm not talking about drying times, but about the fact that the nozzle clogs up quickly.

I just did a rough estimate of how many parts are in the Tamiya Challenger II kit. It comes to about 250. The Eduard photo-etched set for that kit has about 305 parts.😲

#JFFCancerResearch Challenger II, /35, Tamiya Some PE parts are really unnecessary. Take a look at the handles on the boxes. The plastic ones are nice and round, while the PE ones are flat and cut right into your hand. But for the fuel cans, they definitely add value.

#JFFCancerResearch Challenger II, /35, Tamiya € 15,84 for a curved barrel and wrong rifled direction? Difference between Tamiya and PanzerArt barrel. At least the provided MRS do have bolt and locking pin.

#JFFCancerResearch Challenger II, /35, Tamiya It seems to me that Eduard's procedure is a bit unnecessarily cumbersome. Filing down the fire extinguisher's protective cap? Instead use the outer frame of sprue D (same diameter) to make a scratch-built fire extinguisher.

#JFFCancerResearch Challenger II, /35, Tamiya Don't use the PE part as a bracket for the MAG. Keep the plastic part and attach the other PE parts to it. The PE part is really too narrow in proportion but visually, the β€œobese” bracket looks more realistic than the β€œanorexic” one.
