Why vote blue?
Republicans are currently blocking the Richard Starr Act (RSA). The RSA is a bill that would allow military veterans that are medically retired due to combat related injuries to collect their medical retirement checks from the DOD.
Currently, those veterans can not collect that check because they also get department of veterans affairs ratings. The rules that both cannot be collected unless you retire at 20 years.
These aren’t people that rolled their ankle in basic training and got out and filed a VA claim and get compensation. These are people that were injured in combat fighting a war for their country.
Republicans oppose paying these brave service members what they earned in combat. Republicans refuse to honor the contract. When a service member risks their life to advance the cause of this nation and sustains injuries because of that, we owe them for their sacrifice. Republicans would and will kick them to the curb because they are no longer useful.
How do we know this to be true? Well I’m glad you asked. The common point republicans bring up to reject this is that we simply can not afford it because it would cost somewhere between 10-75 billion over the next decade or so.
They claim it can’t be done without taking the money from somewhere else on the budget but have refused the multiple funding methods that democrats have offered and demand it be taken from other entitlements veterans currently have. Meaning they want veterans to sacrifice more to take care of the other veterans that need to be taken care of.
Those same republicans had no problem voting in favor of a 1.1 trillion dollar military budget though which would put almost a trillion dollars straight into the pockets of defense contractors.
They also have no problem with the United States spending tens of billions to hundreds of billions this far on the Iran war.
Republicans always seem to find the money when it is going to benefit a corporation but they always cry we are too broke to take care of the American people. Especially American Veterans.
I called it.
My prediction, Talarico and Hinojosa edge out a victory in Texas. Texas is not actually a red state it is a moderate state.
Red has just been seen as the more stable option the last few decades due to the identity politics of the far left extremists which are voices that the liberal democrats have been championing to make them the face of the progressive movement to shut out actual progressive policies.
That’s no longer the case as republicans have moved to far right extremism as a response and we see a rising of what Id like to call 3/4 left. Reasonable progressives that understand social issues can’t be the lead. They will naturally follow successful economic policies. I feel like Talarico is that 3/4 left. There has never been a better time for him as more people from the middle right and right leaning libertarians and right leaning unaffiliated voters become disenfranchised and politically homeless due to the extremism of the MAGA Cult. Many feel betrayed and plan to either stay home of vote left out of vengeance to give MAGA a wake up slap. I’m calling it for Talarico.
Anybody from Texas knows that Abbott is a useless, spineless, sellout failure. That one is self explanatory.

I can’t believe how easily republicans can fall for the nonsense they are fed. Their political masters will brag about big corporate wins and republicans will act like they are somehow getting a piece of that victory. You would figure that having never gotten any pieces of any big corporate wins, they would know better by now.

Or why she would trash combat veterans by saying people that have stress are weak for seeking treatment. This is why veterans suicide rates are high. Republicans will label them weak and cowards if they reach out for treatment .
I gave republicans a head start on this post and gifted them the assumption that they were correct and Talarico did spend a week getting therapy and they still can’t defend their position. 😂😂😂😂.
This brings up the broader problem though that republicans don’t believe in healthcare or mental health. They also have no understanding of either.
Unlike the rest of the progressive crowd, I’m not going to point out that your story is entirely bullshit.
I’m going to gift you a scenario where what you said is true. So let’s start there.
So what? He went and got health care? That’s what it’s for. For people to take care of their health. You may neglect your health care because republicans hate healthcare for some reason but any reasonable person is going to make sure they take care of their health. Advances in health care are why people aren’t dying at 40 anymore.
The president has spent about 40 days playing golf just this year alone. By your own logic you should be demanding his head.
This is yet another reason not to vote Republican. They don’t believe in healthcare and they make exceptions to the principles they claim to have

This is how dumb republicans are. This war was started by Trump and could be ended by Trump any time he wishes. Even if Dems did want it dragged out, all Trump has to do is not do war.
In fact, Trump has gone long past the 60 days he is supposed to limited to for conflict. He is violating the war powers resolution by dragging this conflict in. He has continuously sought out weak loopholes to drag it on.
I understand some exceptions like Laura loomer and Nancy mace …..but the left is getting carried away with dogging the appearance of right wing women. She hasn’t done anything to deserve this level of disrespect and hatred. It’s best to not stoop to that level until a person has earned that kind of hatred.
Conservative Republican Ideology and Islamic extremist ideology are reflections of each other. The only divergence is the monistic polytheist views of Christian v the monotheist views of the Islamic extremists. Every other value is exactly the same.
