A few thoughts about this article from @OSchiffey, as telemetry data from Sincera’s synthetic users was used to identify the issue.

T-Mobile reports earnings tomorrow. Some ad tech questions:
- How much of “Other Revenues” is from Advertising Solutions?
- What sort of CPMs do they get for their ride-sharing tablets?
- Was the App Insights product (launched last year) affected by Android’s security update?

Not often you see charts like this from eMarketer. Actually, you never see them. Twitter's ad revenue decline is historically bad. via @jasmineaenberg

Ok, network of media & adtech experts… question for you: Besides the obvious players (The Trade Desk, Magnite, TripleLift, Innovid, Samba TV, etc) - who has an interesting tech or service offering in the CTV/OTT space(s)? (please DM if you don’t want to share publicly)

Wouldn't be surprised if the digital media planner/buyer of the future more closely resembles one from 15 years ago vs 5 years ago. But swap publisher rate negotiation skills with working knowledge of how different black box bidders optimise across supply surface areas.

Having an amazing conversation about how ineffective third-party programmatic is becoming for some pubs in my DMs l. wish some more folks would jump on board here. Here’s a question.
Should pubs be worried about the Google faucet turning off completely one day?

Question for ad tech twitter: if a publisher wants to stop cookie syncs for its ad tech partners (DSPs, SSPs, etc) and rely only on persistent IDs, is that technically possible? How would they do it? (Asking for the environment as I work on the carbon cost of cookies...)

DSPs will often ignore the definition of a segment but will feed lots of data points into ML algos that will test many variants. A system might figure out that chicken intender+w35-54+3pm+safari+4th-pageview=performant for casual game ads - non-obvious from the core segment

Not only would batch-based buying be more energy efficient, I think it might be a key way to make RTB privacy-compliant. 🙌

2/ This would mean that RTB wouldn't strictly be "real-time." You buy impressions in, say, increments (call them "lots" to maintain the Wall Street lingo) of 100 users that protect the privacy of the individual users contained in the lot.
