Held from 15–21 October, the festival drew over 300 delegates; The Gambia finished ahead of Liberia and Burkina Faso, while also taking first place in Chef of the Year, Bread Bakery, and Barbecue. 🇬🇲🇸🇳🇱🇷🇬🇳🇳🇬🚨: The Gambia retained the Best Jollof Rice title at the 2026 West Africa Food Festival (WAFFEST) in Banjul, defending the crown it won the previous year in Ghana against competition from Nigeria, Ghana and other countries. The week-long event drew more than 300 delegates, including over 30 international chefs, to showcase West African culinary skills and food heritage.
