Today we celebrate all women – their achievements, their strength and resilience across all industries and all walks of life.
To those that have sadly passed but paved the way and to those that continue to fight for gender parity and justice – we salute you all. ❤️

Still buzzing from hosting ground-breaking @womenintheshade conference. Working with you @marciaore62 @KarenGeddesQPM was incredible. You’ve forged an invaluable support network for current & future female leaders in policing. Long may it reign. Thanks for asking me to take part

I can’t believe I’m even writing these words, my 10 year old nephew was punched multiple times by his teacher Tracey at Christ The King School in Islington.
The 10 year old had to go to A&E immediately after reporting severe pains across his chest and back areas.

A week after my column was published it’s still very relevant. Reposting as MY GOD the level of the nastiness towards Nella is utterly disgusting.

☕️‘We are very much not racist’ see me shaking hands with this African President. ‘Operation Black Shield’ deployed here with media using photo op of King Charles handshake with Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu as a shield 💅🏽 We See You.

Met police taser a child within 8 seconds of meeting her.
According to the IOPC:
Rate of Taser use is 8 times higher for Black people than it is for White people
Black people more likely to be tasered continuously for more than 5 seconds.
Tired.

Nella Rose is a star & will go on to do amazing things in her career. The reaction to her presence on one of the biggest shows in this country just shows how people are still unable to process that black women have opinions. She’s a legend and your hate will never bring her down.

What is the point of making Riches for just 1 season? 🤷🏾♀️ It could have been a perfect December/NY staple

My parents or school never read stories with two dads to me.
I never saw pride flags as a kid.
I didn’t learn the word gay until I was in secondary school.
I didn’t see any gay role models on tv.
But I’m gay, and always have been.
Straight representation didn’t make me straight. Gay representation won’t make kids gay.
But not having a variety of representation will make some kids feel like they don’t belong, or are wrong.
If people won’t allow children to see the diversity of families, they’re failing them and putting their own prejudice above the wellbeing of their children.
Section 28 banned the ‘promotion’ of homosexuality in schools and is still having effects today, despite being repealed 20 years ago.
Ignorance or bigotry can no longer be used as an excuse and all children should see versions of themselves in our schools and in their lives.

Activist Dion Diamond sitting on a counter stool during a civil rights sit-in, Arlington, 1960. He sat there being insulted, harassed, hit and was arrested multiple times for doing it and he’s still alive today.
—It was in the year 1960, at the height of racial segregation in the United States, Dion Diamond, a black man, had grown tired of having his rights constantly trampled on.
"Crazy Diamond" they called him at that time, this man entered the premises and went directly to the white area, sat down and stayed there without flinching. Sometimes groups of people gathered around him, threatening and insulting him and "Crazy Diamond" kept sitting without moving an inch.
Dion said "I would sit down, and they would tell me that they couldn't attend to me and I didn't move, groups of up to 15 or 20 people would come to tell me to get out and I didn't flinch, I would only leave if they threatened to call the police"
Just by sitting down, this activist made many people stand up and fight for change, with an act as simple as sitting down.
