I've met some grounded pros but I massively agree with this I get it's shit to not see your family that much and not have time off, but when you've worked a shit job for 25k a year and use your time off to play CS, you don't take getting paid 25k a month to play CS for granted

You can tell how many pros have never worked a day in their lives in a normal job by how exasperated they are with not having more time off yet how entirely ordinary they imagine it is to make $20-30k base salary per month regardless of performance level.

I'm extremely lucky to work in CS and consider watching it part of my job - I can only imagine being able to play it at a world class level for nine months a year and make enough to retire at 35 every job has downsides but being a pro has fewer and less important ones than most
