Much thanks to @eleanorbirne Sarah Castleton, everyone @CorsairBooks and the typesetter whose head I've put clean away the past few weeks ♥️ and how about that cover by @annabookdesign ? Goes right round the back so it does
Demons, geese, The Laughing Cow, marching bands, LSD and pistols smuggled home from the USSR.
A stunning debut collection, bringing the ghettoised working-class into contemporary Irish poetry.

Attended the launch of Mr Martin Mooney's new poetry book on a steamy night @BlackBoxBelfast. Tales of London barmen, nailing shells to driftwood and a firm, fine intro from @al_mac_e Good to see the man Mooney back again.

Starts tomorrow @QUBelfast @HeaneyCentre NORTH The magnificent collection that rendered obsolete most of Irish poetry since Yeats & destroyed the humdrum of Irish poetry at a stroke. Hercules & Antaeus come to grips again.
50 years on, Seamus Heaney’s 'North' still resonates.
A conference (5–7 June) at @HeaneyCentre, co-hosted with @TCDEnglish, will bring together leading poets & scholars, including Trinity’s Dr Stephen O’Neill, Prof. @EvePatten9 & more.
