WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners. Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads. Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was. Got a root shell. then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems. This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.
i own a relatively new (2025) samsung tv. i kept getting weirdly targeted ads. i tried reversing the firmware but it was aes encrypted and no keys unless tear it apart and do uart/jtag magic. zero days it is. root shell on new samsung TVs! discovered PRIVACY HORROR. write up?

More private keys by the Indian certificate authority have been discovered. These are all small numbers. People are suspecting that they interpreted 384 bit keys to mean that they should pick numbers from 1-384 to use as their private keys.

arstechnica.com/security/202… The private keys for these certs are literally the numbers 4, 56, 66, 115, 155, 156, 230, and 237 (life imitates XKCD, again).

Microsoft has released its October security updates. This included: • 1,400+ vulnerabilities patched. • 1 vulnerability with evidence of exploitation. • 70 'Critical' rated. Users should apply the patch updates ASAP 👉 msrc.microsoft.com/update-gu…
Security updates for October 2026 are now available. Details are here: msrc.microsoft.com/update-gu… As security update packages address more CVEs, prioritization can become more complex. In a new blog, we explore risk cohorts, an approach to grouping CVEs around shared deployment, exposure, and trust-boundary questions to help customers make vulnerability analysis more manageable. Announcing tsc-rs (aka ts-rust), my complete rewrite of the Typescript compiler, type checker, and LSP, all in Rust. This is a project I've had agents working on for 5 months now. I burned ~$400k of Codex tokens and got nowhere. Burned ~$20k of Opus and got there in 2 weeks. I have not read a single line of the code. tsc-rs is an open source drop-in replacement for tsc, and it's available now.

You're missing the core drama of the story: Tristan is softly accusing OpenAI of having stolen their result from Codex chat logs. Tristan then claims OpenAI tried to threaten him to not publicly disclose this, and that they'd give him the Clay Prize ($1M) as the "closest humans to the problem" if he'd agree to disavow his co-author, @__alpoge__ , who is at Anthropic. This is HBO-level drama, but with math proofs.
SITUATION DETECTED: Mathematicians Tristan Buckmaster and Levent Alpöge have made major progress toward solving the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem, one of the most important problems in mathematics, and say OpenAI may have solved it fully.

>math professor spends a year on one of the hardest unsolved problems in math >"Navier-Stokes" >his drafts for the whole project went through codex sessions >openai had his logs in codex >suddenly rumor leaks AI solved it >he emails openai to ask what's going on >openai calls within days >"funny story, our model also solved it" >using his exact approach >asks openai: did you train on my sessions? >no answer
If I am reading this correctly, Tristan Buckmaster is alleging OAI has a resolution of Navier-Stokes(via Córdoba and Martínez-Zoroa’s program) which maybe used info from Buckmaster and Levent Alpöge’s private Codex sessions What the fuck is happening!!!
