An interesting observation from SA’s protracted fallout with the West in general & the USA in particular is the fact that:
• SA’s trade with NATO is a staggering R1.31 Trillion.
• With the US: R400 billion. In fact, the US is SA’s 2nd-largest bilateral trade partner after China. Our preferential access to the US markets via the Agoa is up for renewal — or termination, in 2025 (I stand to be corrected).
• Our trade with Mother Russia is almost negligible at a lousy R15.7 billion. In fact, our trade with the other BRICS members — Brazil, China & India, accounts for ~98.3% of our BRICS bromance.
• We exported some R3.5 billion worth of goods to Palestine in 2023 (according to UN’s COMTRADE database on international trade).
• Our trade with Israel: ~ R18.45 billion.
More to lose than to gain from our choice of friends & miscalculated bromances?? Food for thought served; you do the dishes…😏

Proudly brought to you by @MYANC . They destroy everything they touch. Repair nothing. A symbol of how they operate internally too.
Such a heartache to see what’s happened to the resort where the @Midmarmile is swum. The @EZEMVELOKZNWild chalets that used to be buzzing with swimmers and families are now decrepit, wasting away, stripped clean. A real disgrace.

Since loadshedding started in 2007 – in just 17 years – Eskom has had 16 CEOs, interim CEOs, and acting CEOs but apparently André de Ruyter brought loadshedding to South Africa!??!

Friends, we’ve had loadshedding for 17 years but the ANC believe that 1 person (who was at the tail end of the problem) is the problem?
Explain this for 10 points.

MESSAGE ON BEHALF OF HOEDSPRUIT FARMWATCH
Hoedspruit Farmwatch would like to thank everyone for the positive response and support being received so far. We are very proud to serve the community of Hoedspruit and our immediate surrounds and it is an honour to be part of such a phenomenal community. We would however just like to set a few facts straight - firstly Hoedspruit Farmwatch have a very good relationship with our local police and a large number of specialist SAPS units and we work very well in partnership with them. We are there only to support and strengthen their hands. The police did NOT run away from the scene and were there from start to way beyond the end. SAPS on all levels did an awesome job and we are very proud to work with them. We are not sure who created this fabrication but irresponsible statements like this can have very negative consequences and can break down positive and vital relationships that we have spent years building. We ask everyone to please think twice before creating nonsense to just further purposes of sensationalism.
Please also note that none of the posts or messages going out are initiated from Farmwatch - we have very strict policies against this - we will however monitor what is being said and just correct any grossly inaccurate facts and straighten irresponsible comments that negatively report on our partners and their involvement in the entire event.
Similarly, Hoedspruit Farmwatch has very strict policies about photos and video’s taken on scene and we would just like to make it clear that none of the photos currently being shared are from Hoedspruit Farmwatch, but have originated from Official Sources instead or some of them are from general public who were caught on the edges of the incident.
We also please request that any political references are stopped. Hoedspruit Farmwatch is not a political organisation. We are against crime of any nature and focus on fighting crime not politics.
Please join us in positivity and stand together against criminals and not against our partners who put their lives on the line daily to protect the citizens of South Africa

How bad is SA Cricket? Can’t bat on a flat wicket - Warner on his own makes more than the entire SA team. Disappointing.

So do we now ban Denmark? And the UK? The border ban on African countries is even harder to argue now.
Denmark’s @SSI_dk just released a new risk assessment on #omicron.
It estimates that #omicron will become the dominant variant in Copenhagen this week with more than 10,000 cases per day expected - an all-time pandemic high.

This is an astounding revelation. The root cause of the failed state across Africa is patronage politics which inevitably leads to "state capture" by the ruling party. It has been openly unfolding for 25 years and the New York Times hasn't mentioned it once. Do Better!
Twenty three years on from the ANC's formal adoption of its fantastically destructive cadre deployment policy in 1997/8 the @nytimes has still not ever reported on (or mentioned it) despite having had correspondents reporting on and in SA for almost all of that period.

If the state cannot or will not fulfil the function of protecting citizens, what right does it have to prevent citizens from protecting their own right to life and bodily integrity?
The gun ownership ban is reckless and must be rejected.
