Any oil will do. Venezuelan, American, or even Russian. Just ensure uninterrupted supplies for my refinery. And you shall get diesel.

Peter Navarro even called it ‘Modi’s war’. CNN’s Becky Anderson told Hardeep Sing Puri that India was funding Putin’s war and was benefiting from the invasion of Ukraine. Europe blamed India for circumventing sanctions and even sanctioned an India-Russia joint venture. Zelenskyy said those who buy Russian fuel are paying blood money to the Russians.
Okay, and then what happened?

To @elonmusk with love from @samirsaran .. do read :-)
“India has managed far heavier pressure than a viral post. It spent four decades building a self-reliant nuclear programme under sanctions, and it built the world’s most widely used public digital infrastructure without asking anyone’s permission. It will connect its last village on its own terms, with partners who accept that a republic’s rules are its foundation.”

Hey Elon, I have a question. If China comes up with a Starlink equivalent, will US allow it on its soil? Asking it for a Chinese friend.

OMANI CO-PILOT HAMAM AL HAMMAMI’s CONFESSIONS UNDER INTERROGATION (according to media reports):
1️⃣ Planned the attack BEFORE joining Flydubai.
2️⃣ Specifically sought an airline flying to Tel Aviv.
3️⃣ Visited Israel several times as a Flydubai pilot.
4️⃣ Used a June visit to Ben Gurion to gather intelligence.
5️⃣ Planned to carry out the attack in JULY.
6️⃣ Aborted the July attempt because he’d befriended a crew member.
7️⃣ Planned to kill Capt Smit Machchhar inside the locked cockpit.
8️⃣ Intended to continue towards Israel appearing to be a NORMAL flight.
9️⃣ Planned a last-second crash into Ben Gurion Airport, a building or another aircraft.
🔟 Backup plan if Israel became unreachable: crash into a US military base in Jordan.

Stay classy The Economist. We always expect the first line about India to be about its poverty. Never disappoint us on that score okay?
It is extraordinary that India, still a relatively poor country, can achieve something as selfless as protecting other creatures. We explain how it became remarkably good at animal conservation economist.com/asia/2026/10/0…

NEW: Interrogation of the Omani pilot: the objective was to crash the plane into the terminal building at Ben Gurion Airport.
The assault on the other pilot was timed deliberately. He waited until the aircraft was over Jordan, near Israel, before moving against him.
From that point the plan was to fly a normal landing approach so nothing would appear unusual. Only in the last seconds, once interception was no longer possible, would he turn the aircraft into the terminal.
The plot was thwarted by one decision. The wounded Indian pilot got the cockpit door open at all costs, and that is the only reason the attack did not succeed.

“Thank you, hero.” 🇮🇱🇮🇳
Days after the dramatic flydubai flight I’ve been reporting on, this appeared today at Israel’s Ad Halom junction: a massive billboard honoring Capt. Smit Machhar.
His photo. A simple message in Hebrew and Hindi:
Thank you, hero.
A fitting tribute to the pilot whose actions helped prevent a far greater disaster.

Pneumonic plague—key facts: Symptoms usually begin 1–3 days after exposure (sometimes up to 7). R₀ estimates vary: about 1.2 in historical U.S. data and 2.4 in a model of Madagascar’s 2017 outbreak. It spreads through respiratory droplets, especially during close contact. If suspected, start antibiotics immediately—do not wait for test results; treatment within the first 24 hours of symptoms is critical. In historical published cases, the death rate was about 17% with antibiotics (pooled estimate; timing and care varied), versus nearly 100% without treatment. Untreated disease can become fatal within 18–24 hours of symptom onset.
Reports about the Irkutsk case are still developing, so I’d describe it as suspected/reported pneumonic plague unless officials confirm the diagnosis.
