AI agents have 10x'd the number of three.js projects out there. Did this also 10x the revenue generated for the builders? Did it increase donations to maintain three.js itself? I don't think so (hopefully it did) But the ones selling the shovels are pretty happy right now.

I just open-sourced this chess instructor tool Plug your API Key and learn chess in realtime Just be aware that this was a weekend prototype So there are a lot of adjustments do be made Hope you enjoy it!
This might be the future of education! 🤯 I decided to test the GPT-Live-1 API and built a real-time chess instructor It uses Stockfish under the hood to always give you accurate moves You can interrupt the conversation at any time, and it will always provide up-to-date guidance on how to play using its backend capabilities It is a very nice use case for it!

I've been feeling the same way. I lost the joy of building anything on three.js. Even games... But being positive for a second, I've never been more productive with content creation I'm working on a video for my YouTube channel and I did a visualization that would have taken me hours to make Now it's just seconds The situation is bad from some angles, but good from others ...How do I recover the joy, though? 🧐
I think it's time to hang up my Three.js hat. First of all, this is not a pity post—I'll be fine. I'm also not 100% confident about this. But I'm an over-sharer and like to talk out loud, so I thought I would share some thoughts on where I see things going and why I'm considering quitting Three.js development. Some signals I've noticed lately that have gotten me thinking: - Since Astra was released, I've probably seen at least 10 posts from different people that have achieved similar quality to Three.js Water Pro or better. - Someone downloaded a video recording of one my posts, fed it to Astra and recreated it with 90% accuracy - I've had less and less clients referrals - A Three.js developer I respect very much is retiring from the industry due to impact of AI and lack of interest - I've heard 2nd hand accounts of other developers losing majority of course/plugin sales due to AI - I've noticed Three.js posts have shifted from work created by seasoned developers to vibe-coded games and demos. Fundamentally, I no longer really see value in what I do when it can be replicated so easily. I've always enjoyed working on hard problems. Naturally, outsourcing the hard part to an agent takes away a lot of the enjoyment for me. High-level orchestration of agents does not tickle my brain in any special way. At the end of most days I feel unfulfilled and bored. I honestly feel like I've lost much of my critical thinking ability as I've stopped coding. I find it harder to focus on tasks and my attention-span and comprehension is noticeably dropping. My plan right now is to finish up Water Pro v4 and see how that performs. After that, I think it's time to start thinking about what else is out there for me. I'd love to hear thoughts from other developers & freelancers on the matter, positive or negative. Feel free to vent!

GPT-Live-1 is now available in the API. Bring ChatGPT’s natural back-and-forth to your app, with voice agents that listen while they speak and work with the models and harness you choose.

I wonder if I should continue working on this game after the game jam Initially I was very upset about the results and didn't want to continue But now I'm revisiting it and it actually looks quite nice I don't know where I would take it though
After 15 days of hard work, I'm happy to share my game for @levelsio's 2026 #vibejam The game is called Hollowlands and I'm trying my best on it. Learning a lot of new stuff in the process. My previous game development experience + AI is a powerful combination that I honestly think it's underexplored by many. What used to take weeks of development now is being done in days, allowing me to focus more on the creative part of the process. Next step: Integrating multiplayer using @colyseus by @endel who's also a fellow brazilian 🇧🇷

I've made some updates to my open-source three.js grass. Now it has flowers! 🌼 On top of that I > Improved the sway of the trees > Added Ambient Occlusion below the grass blades > Smoothed the transition between the road and the grass > Made the sky auto rotate for more dynamicity Link in bio if you're interested

I’ve been thinking a lot about AI these past days Using AI to create an illustration doesn’t make me an Illustrator Using AI to create a song doesn’t make me a Composer So does using AI to code make me a coder? A game dev? That got me thinking after 9 years doing the craft

I went to Gamescom to learn about web games I had the opportunity to talk with @Poki's Business Developer @romyhalfweeg She has a lot of insights on how to launch a game that performs well on web platforms Key insights: 1. The web audience is mostly composed of 9 to 12 year old kids who want fast gameplay loops and really bright colors 2. They want something to work towards, so they feel like their time investment is worth it. This could be a new item to unlock, a new world, a new level, etc. 3. Web is the best way to gain experience with game dev fast, so you know the whole dev cycle at least once 4. A lot of companies are turning to web games as a fast way to improve customer satisfaction. So the future for web games is promising Watch the full video for the complete talk

Jezz... Creating an organic and realistic football/soccer match simulator is so challenging! 🤦🏻‍♂️ I had an idea for a new game and started prototyping. But I've been building this for a while and I'm still nowhere near achieving what I wanted in the first place. AI doesn't help a lot as it's not so good with 'new' problems that don't have a public source out there on the internet. Plus the lack of vision to detect weirdness make it even worse. I'm trying to figure out how to solve this problem in a reasonable time before I give up. Open to suggestions

Pro tip for game devs 👨🏻‍💻 > I've created a "meme game" for my brazilian YouTube audience. It's an autobattle with roguelite mechanics. > But the game was completely unbalanced. > So I took this weekend to create a script to simulate 30.000 matches to spot 'why'. > And it worked perfectly! > Now I'm able to see the win-rate of every character and item in the game, see where the game is too easy or too hard. Tip: MAKE SURE YOUR CODE IS HEADLESS. That means all the logic is self contained and separated from the visuals (ECS Architecture is perfect for that) If you do that, you have endless posibilities when testing it out programatically.

I created Meccha Chameleon in the browser! 🌐 For anyone who doesn't know it, it's a game that went viral and sold over 10M copies on Steam. I'm pretty sure the creators don't intend to launch it on the web as well, right? So I might as well do my own version! Here's the result:
