"Over the past month, New York City has publicly celebrated the enduring cultures of North America’s First Peoples ... But inside the U.S. Custom House at Bowling Green, the New York branch of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian is being quietly whitewashed."

Google is using its search monopoly to coerce schools into adopting AI. This highlights the danger of allowing an unregulated monopolist to control an essential service.
Multiple courts have found Google liable for violating antitrust laws, and this latest move shows it remains unchastened.
As the public increasingly pushes back against the use of AI in schools, Google is making clear it will punish those who don’t fall in line.
Breaking: Google will turn off web search for schools that opt out of A.I. for kids.

Haley Stevens has spent a long time telling us what she prioritizes and it's not American democracy or Black owned businesses. A sadly predictable yet profoundly dangerous turn of events.
Replying to @samueljrob
Stevens says she’s for investing in Black owned businesses. “And that’s the policy that Mike’s going to take on,” Stevens says.

“There’s a lot of things I’m nostalgic for that have been lost. When I was young, I could go do so many interesting things, and I could afford to do them, even though I had no money. The city was so much more affordable. When I do plays at BAM, I always want to make sure that there’s affordable tickets for younger people, because I don’t want to just perform for rich people my age. I think that’s important, because it opened my eyes to so many things.” bkmag.com/2026/10/30/john-tu…

NEW: The Times’s Credit Crisis
A recent New York Times front-page feature on chemical plants in the Trump era had deep reporting, stark data visuals, and an uncanny resemblance to a smaller outlet’s earlier investigation. Was this a case of unacknowledged inspiration, a steroidal dose of Times exceptionalism, or sheer coincidence?

Without giving this the dignity of an actual response…Ted, you need a new blazer. I don’t follow TX or federal politics at all, but you gotta retire that sport coat my man.
I believe Abdul El-Sayed is Muslim Brotherhood.
If he were to win, Chuck Schumer could place him on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He would have access to the very highest level of classified materials.
There would be an unacceptably high risk that the lives of American servicemen and women would be endangered, because there’s every reason to believe El-Sayed would share that classified information with Muslim Brotherhood terrorists.
