The Highlands cannot be an afterthought in this new conversation about power and place.
Andy Burnham built his career on the idea that Westminster doesn’t understand life outside it - well, neither does a settlement designed for Manchester work for Mallaig.

Our South of Scotland MSP Duncan Dunlop made his first speech at Holyrood today.
His speech focused on the failure of the SNP Government to fulfil the Promise to care experienced young people and the need to overhaul the care system in Scotland.
The LibDems are proud to represent the Highlands with MP’s and MSP’s. Let’s see if we can the North orange at the Councillor elections next year…
Very proud of the Highlands sending three new LibDem MSP’s to Holyrood, Andrew Baxter, Morven-May McCallum and David Green. A massive swing from the SNP to us.
Our Neil Alexander just missed landing Inverness despite a 23% increase in LibDem votes.

🇬🇧 WATCH: “CORRUPTION OF THE VERY WORST KIND.”
UK politicians point out the obvious insider trading where people (likely close to Trump) are getting rich off of Trump’s posts about the war.
And nobody will investigate. Trump’s golden age of corruption. He is the swamp.
The first 11 stories on X that come up for me are all pro Trump/Musk.
You cannot depend on X to be independent now.

History lesson for Trump:
In 1939, Churchill asked America for help to fight the Nazis. America refused.
Churchill continued to ask in 1940 & 1941 as Europe fell.
Not until Pearl Harbour did America jon Britain in WW2.
*Then they leased us food & armaments*.
We paid until 2006.

A party political broadcast on behalf of Viktor Orban delivered by Marco Rubio. No bots, no hacking, no slush funds. Foreign interference in a domestic election on stage in plain sight.
“Your success is our success.”
Couldn’t have said it better @SecRubio. The friendship and mutual trust I share with President @realDonaldTrump benefit both our nations and reinforce the strong ties between Hungary and the United States. Our close collaboration will keep delivering results. 🇭🇺🤝🇺🇸

Great to be able to work with the hospitality sector to push the government for more support for businesses. There’s always more they can do and we will work together to push for it. Business is everything to economic growth, jobs and fixing our fiscal black hole.
It was interesting to listen to @EdwardJDavey today at the @scotlibdems Business Day event, outlining the @LibDems vision for not just the UK but for Scotland, but also to @agcolehamilton on his own visions for Scotland ahead of the elections
Also interesting listening to @jamiegreeneUK and the panel on issues like non-domestic rates
Round table sessions Scotlands Food and Drink, and the Skills issues made for good discussions
VAT remains a big concern for hospitality UK Wide, and @libdemdaisy has been a voice on this, and we will be writing to her to explore dates for more discussions

Why is Labour giving Trump a free pass to break international law?
We know what happens when US Presidents launch illegal wars. It’s why the Liberal Democrats opposed the Iraq War and it’s why we condemn Trump’s law-breaking in Venezuela today.

Maduro was an illegitimate despot and international law has many flaws.
But it’s the world’s only bulwark against might usurping right.
Ukraine, now Venezuela, next stop… Taiwan? Greenland? Canada even?
@Keir_Starmer must stand up for the rule of law & stop dissembling🤦🏻♂️
