With Ernie Johnson’s retirement from Inside The NBA looming. I encourage everyone to watch old Inside episodes/segments in the Pre-Shaq era. Watching these episodes made me fall in love with sports broadcasting again and also the early 00s nostalgia >>>

Many never realize how important Fruit , arguably a nobody compared to the major characters was to the show. He is practically the domino effect from S3 to S4.
He rips off Cutty on a dope package and pulls a gun on him, but later during a Barksdale raid on his corner, he gets completely spared by Cutty. It was in that moment Cutty realizes he just doesn't have the heart to be a hitter anymore.
That exact moment forces Cutty to walk away from the game entirely, which leads to him asking Avon for the cash to start up his boxing gym. That gym completely changes the landscape for the corner kids.
Then in S4, Fruit gets dropped by Lex outside a nightclub over a girl, which completely kicks off the entire chain of events for the rest of the season. Because Lex clears Fruit off the board, Marlo has Chris and Snoop set a trap for Lex using Little Kevin to lie to Randy to pass the message.
That single phone call entirely ruins Randy's life, branding him a snitch on the street, leading to a massive stack of bodies in the vacants, and eventually forcing Randy straight into a broken foster care system.
If Cutty had put a bullet in Fruit back on that corner in Season 3, Lex never would have had to shoot him. Cutty doesn't leave the game, so he doesn't build the gym, Randy would still be in school, Little Kevin would be alive, Bodie would be alive, and the entire West Side map would have rolled out completely differently.
Cutty's mercy caused the death of so many lives💔

curious the percentage of asian alums in general who donate to their alma mater.
bc these schools may have a funding crisis in a decade or so
Harvard has just released data for the freshman class, the class of 2030.
Asian American students make up 43% (41% class of 2029). This undercounts it though because some students did not self report racial background. Black % at 9% (down from 11% class of 2029).
White American % is only around 20%.
The New American Elite will be invariably Asian & Wasian. This is indisputable at this point. The decline of White Americans at our elite institutions over the past decade is a massively consequential trend, with cultural & social ramifications.

Lowkey, this is part of why SEC schools are becoming so popular with white students from the Northeast. With affirmative action gone and Asian enrollment rising at selective universities, campus demographics are simply shifting. It is basically a form of white flight.

even as a black guy I can admit that the large percentage of high performing whites/legacy admits is part of what confers prestige to these institutions... you let them become striver academies full of foreigners and watch no one wanna go there anymore

Christina Aguilera said her best skill in bed is BLOWJOBS - and called herself a “PROMOTER OF THE SWALLOW.” 💀
Alex Cooper asked what she’s best at in the bedroom.
“It’s got to be blowjobs.”
Then she went further.
“I’m a promoter of the swallow, OK. I didn’t put in that hard work for nothing.”
And then came the places.
The studio soundboard.
Planes.
Under blankets.
Alex thought she meant a PRIVATE plane.
“No, I’m not actually.”
She was talking about international flights.
Lights out.
Blankets.
Waiting for everyone to fall asleep.
Alex’s reaction?
“Oh my God, that’s iconic.” 😭

It’s pretty insane that OceanGate knew the sub had imploded and still allowed multiple countries to deploy massive resources to stage some kind of rescue.
Every time someone hears about this heist, I feel personal responsibility to plug one of the finest long features ever written:

The last phone call Lil Jon ever had with his son was him calling back to say sorry. He had no idea it would be the last time he'd hear Nathan's voice.
Nathan was 27. NYU grad, music producer, DJ'd under the name Young Slade. For about four years he'd been dealing with physical pain and a lot going on emotionally, and he was in therapy working on it. His dad kept riding him to take better care of himself, and Nathan finally asked him to give him some credit for how hard he was trying.
Then early one Saturday morning, Nathan sent him a text.
"My love for you is stronger than my fear."
Jon took the whole back-and-forth to his own therapist, who told him something pretty simple. His son just wanted to be heard and seen.
So he picked up the phone, told Nathan he was sorry, and told him he could see how hard he'd been trying.
The next morning Nathan ran out of his house in Milton, Georgia around 6am and left his phone behind. He had a therapy appointment on the books that same day. Three days later a dive team found him in a pond at a park near his house. The medical examiner ruled it an accidental drowning.
Jon had pretty much finished writing his memoir when this happened. He'd already named it I Only Shout So You Can Hear Me. This is a guy who's been yelling WHAT and YEAH on records for 30 years, and he built the title of his whole life story around wanting people to hear him.
Read that title again now that you know about the phone call.
He went back into the book, wrote a new chapter about Nathan, and dedicated the whole thing to him. It came out last Tuesday. His co-writer Paul Cantor says he never had one conversation with Jon where Nathan didn't come up.
After Nathan died, Jon says he basically lived on the couch for months. So in this clip you're watching a guy talk about dragging himself back up because his daughter and his partner deserve the best of him. He says he had to relearn how to smile and laugh. And he thanks Allah for giving him 27 years with his son.
Nathan was a teenager hanging around the studio when Turn Down for What got made, and his dad called him his good-luck charm. Ten years later Nathan was engineering his father's meditation album. In an interview last year, Nathan said his dad always showed up for him.
The man famous for shouting so you'd hear him spent his last call with his son making sure Nathan knew he'd been heard.
Keke Palmer got EMOTIONAL and teared up as Lil Jon opened up about GRIEVING the tragic loss of his 27-year-old son Nathan, revealing how he had to learn to SMILE AGAIN, find joy in life and pull himself out of a DARK PLACE for his family 💔
“I realized I had to pick myself up, because my daughter and my partner deserve the best of me. I had to learn to smile again and laugh again… I have gratitude for Allah for giving me my son for 27 years. I appreciate every memory… If I can get through it, you can get through it. You have to keep living, keep spreading love, and keep spreading joy”

Somebody said that Apple is in their Taco Bell era where they're just smashing together random leftover parts from other devices and naming them things like "Phonedito Supreme Crunch" and it's the perfect analogy. Here slap a touch screen on this, charge $4k and call it a Maclupa
your mom leaves for a few days with the fridge stocked and 30 bucks on the counter for pizza and you're all settled in to goof off and stay up late and then your dumbass 9 year old brother drops a dumbbell on his head. I know these kids were livid
Bodycam footage shows Florida deputies arresting a mother at an airport after authorities say she left her four children, ages 9, 11, 12 and 14, home alone while traveling to Las Vegas for work.
Irene Miller, 50, was taken into custody Friday as she stepped off a plane. Two days earlier, one of her children had called 911 after a dumbbell fell on her 9-year-old brother's head.
When deputies arrived at the family's Kissimmee home, they found the children without adult supervision and had the injured boy taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released. Miller now faces four counts of child neglect.
