This is an axiom of publishing in mathematical journals. If you put in too many details, your paper will be rejected. As if a few poorly lit sign posts should be enough to reconstruct the arguments. Every sentence becomes a problem set.

We are deeply saddened by the death of Aldo Figallo Orellano. Aldo studied and worked in UNS (Bahia Blanca, Argentina) and recently held positions in UNICAMP, UFRN, and USP (Brazil). As colleagues who knew him, we send our condolences to his family and loved ones.

The Brazilian School of Logic is saddened and orphaned by Prof. Newton da Costa's passing away, last night, in Florianópolis. His striking presence anywhere was always overflowing with life and logic, and this is how he shall be remembered by those who had the chance to meet him.
