Real talk with Lola.
Rescue is freakin hard.
Mom is trying hard to get better about saying no.
She’s got some medical stuff going on, has her other job, has all of us here.
Funds are limited.
Space is limited.
But this week, which one of these faces would you have said no to?
Inkie- she initially said no, another rescue will snatch her up. A few days later found out no one had and she was being kept outside.
Rylie- had a 1:30 scheduled euthanasia appointment because the owner didn’t want him and was living without utilities or much food for months.
Onyx- kept on a chain, hit regularly, owners threatening to abandon him.
Dolly- 10 yo, blind & deaf girl with mammary masses in a high TX kill shelter.
Well mom couldn’t say no ta any of them.
She just couldn’t.

Seven years ago today, we lost our sweet Chief. We had him for such a short time, but he changed our lives forever. He taught me unconditional love and gave me a passion for rescuing senior dogs. So much of what I do today is because of him. Forever missing my sweet old hound. 💔

I just want to protect the dogs. I don’t care if people stealing money. However when they are taking dogs for pledges, they often euthanized the dogs discreetly and told their supporters that the dogs got adopted.
I have a bunch of evidence on that scenario, I hunted Amsterdog rescue in NY to find Blue. We found a number of ashes at their former vet office; along with Blue’s ashes.
Amsterdog is still operating and collecting pledges all over as we speak.

💔 One of the hardest parts of dog rescue is desperately wanting to save a dog but knowing you can’t take that next step without someone opening their home.
Beau is that dog right now. 🐾
This sweet 1-year-old, 52-pound boy has an injured leg that requires surgery. He needs a foster home so a rescue can step in and get him the medical care he desperately needs.
Rescuers want so badly to help Beau, but they cannot do it alone. Somewhere out there is a person who could give him a safe place to recover. They just need to find them.

Hello #OTLFP friends. I am so touched by all the tributes to Peyton. Peyton was such a beautiful friend. Peyton was the friend that introduced Puggie to the AniPal community. Puggie had very few followers and Peyton kindly put out a new friend alert. We have found so many wonderful friends and we will forever be grateful to Peyton and mommy.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Snickers has absolutely no idea how to act normal. 😂
Snickers #NCR8757 has grown up right before our eyes, from a 3-month-old puppy to an 8-month-old, 56-lb goofball. 😂

Exhibit C: the dramatic sit-and-stare directly into the camera like he has something very important to say. 👀
This cattle dog mix is EXTREMELY silly, incredibly smart, and has a personality that is impossible not to love. He’s also strong, energetic and a herding breed, so Snickers is looking for someone with previous dog experience who can give him the structure, consistency and patience he needs to keep growing into the very best version of himself. ❤️
He gets along with other pups, but a meet and greet is required to ensure a perfect match. Snickers is looking for a home with children 12+ who can respect his boundaries and keep up with his playful energy!
Basically, Snickers is ready to trade his shelter bed for a forever couch… and he promises to bring the comedy. 🐾😂
