As an athlete, you need to accept your role on the team. It doesn’t matter if your role is to be the leading scorer or the glue guy, you must be willing and eager to do it for the sake of the team.

As an athlete, don’t put too much pressure on yourself to succeed. Not only does this hurt your mental health, but it also hurts your performance in games. You need to take unnecessary pressure off of yourself, have fun, and keep a positive attitude.

Never be jealous of another athlete’s success. This only makes you bitter and unhappy. Understand that another athlete’s success doesn’t mean you can’t have your own success and happiness.

Getting upset at yourself after making mistakes in games isn’t going to help you play any better, so you might as well stay calm and continue to do the best that you can. Leave your mistakes in the past. Learn from them, move on, and focus on what’s next!
