AI IS AMAZING I know it's hip to worry about the decline in book reading and how chatbots will impoverish our brains. But TBH, this is not at all what I see. I wrote about how we're in this wild moment for intellectual flourishing and how all of us are the children of dancers.

Consumer product builders, especially those building for younger cohorts, are navigating a complex dichotomy: features enabled by AI are table stakes, but anti-AI sentiment is widespread. How do you build what people want without using technology that makes them suspicious?

I see this happening in companies I consult with, both hardware and software. Users ask “is this AI?” before trying anything new. But then they request features that could only be enabled by giving the product a brain.

I have concluded that these users are all actively using generative AI regularly, despite their outward, performative distrust. (How else would they know to expect these types of interaction patterns?) So the question is “when will they stop being haters?”

be careful asking topper a question. . .you might get a custom video back with your answer
I've been testing side-by-side generation based on the chatter here wrt to sonnet, space bunny, opus, sol. Experiment link below. Opus 5.5 is really in a league of its own for creative creation, even compared to sonnet 5.5, even fable really. If you *only* saw the sonnet one you'd think "oh that's awesome" but then you compare it to Opus and it's no contest.

So much more coming soon - DM me if you want to try :)
Whatever black magic @tylerangert put into @angles_hq seriously amazed me! I’ve been on tour photographing bands over the years and I never had 1) an easy way to automatically aggregate all of my photos and 2) visualize them physically by where I shot them. This is crazy!!

Of course paul graham is a libra
Jessica bought me a fabulous watch from my favorite vintage watch shop (Somlo) and conspired with them to have it in the window when I walked by. Of course it was the first one I noticed. But instead of a description, the label said "Happy early birthday Paul." I still didn't get that it was for me, because one of the guys who works there is called Paul. I turned to Jessica and said that he must have a birthday coming up too, but why would they put his watch in the window? Then I noticed she was grinning like the Cheshire cat.

a fun read with great nuggets. One guy "unwittingly funded an African coup." A many of these dudes went to SUNY. There is but one lady, but she knows everything (just like real life!). One guy's an "amphibian advocate" (same!). great piece @maxabelson
NEW: The biggest trading firm is so secretive it has no CEO or board of directors. Jane Street’s dominance means its leaders matter across the world, so we spent months trying to figure out who’s who. Here’s a gift link. Please read and share it bloomberg.com/features/2026-…

It is so depressing to me that people have a “usual” DoorDash order
You can now just text DoorDash and let it order for you. It’s proactive, learns from your repeat orders, and helps you find the best deals and new spots. Just tell it what you want without any extra setup. Ask it to reorder your usual, or add it to a group text to collect everyone’s orders. You can even send a photo of your fridge and it’ll tell you what ingredients you’re missing for a recipe you want to make and deliver the ingredients to your doorstep. We believe agents are a new app paradigm and are building for that future at @AIatDoorDash, with a lot more to come. This feature is in beta in the US, would love for you to let us know what you think! Waitlist: doordash.com/text
