GROK IMAGINE Updated 2026-10-22 From my Grok Imagine bookmarks (353 posts). NEW TODAY - Folder now 353 posts (3 new since Oct 21). - Testers (Oct 13): Grok Imagine Music is out. Still Testers. - Elon (Oct 14): "Made with Grok Imagine" on a creator's Imagine music video (a re-cut that removes flashing lights and harsh color). - Official Grok (Oct 12): Grok is now part of The X Subscription, from $8/month with five tiers; SuperGrok users can switch in account settings. For video, pick Premium or higher. HOW TO USE - Open Imagine in the Grok app or on the web; update the app when a new version drops. - Flow: prompt or upload, edit (Precise Edit, segments, resize), then Make Video, then upscale. - Music: add a generated song to your video, edit it, or write your own track prompt. - Video needs the Premium tier or higher of The X Subscription; Plus covers images only.

STARSHIP Updated 2026-10-22 374 posts (+9 today) NEW TODAY - Flight 15 aims for the first full catch: Elon says next month's flight will try to catch both Super Heavy and the Starship upper stage with the tower arms. A ship catch at the pad would be a first for any orbital rocket. - Ship 40 is home: after Flight 13's Indian Ocean splashdown and the trip back by sea, it stands in a Megabay at Starbase, the first Starship ever back at its launch site after flight. SpaceX will study its flown heat shield, Raptors and avionics. - NASA's Moon schedule lists five Starship firsts this quarter, one done. Still due: first V3 booster catch, first ship catch, first Florida launch and first reused V3 booster. Next quarter: first ship-to-ship propellant transfer. First crewed landing is set for Artemis IV in early 2028. - Starbase is targeting up to 456 Starship launches a year. At about 100 t per V3 launch, that's roughly 45,600 t a year, more than 20 times SpaceX's 2025 total to orbit (tester math). - Starbase Louisiana breaks ground in 2027, with a first Starship launch planned for 2029, possibly on V4. - Two years since the first tower catch on Oct 13, 2024. Since then, two more booster catches and a caught booster has flown again.

GROK Updated 2026-10-22 NEW TODAY - Grok 4.8 is expected soon at 2.5T and should be a noticeable improvement (tester expectation, not an official ship). - Testers expect Grok 4.8 within about 2 weeks: the first 2.5T model, the first trained on the new C++ software stack, and the first Grok under the SpaceXSI branding (anticipation, not official). - A concept for Grok project memory: keep notes with sources, link them to projects and decisions, and save approved corrections so the next draft uses them without re-explaining (an animated prototype, not a working Grok agent).

ELON MUSK Updated 2026-10-22 Sources: your Elon Musk bookmark folder (1680 posts). Not Elon Musk Algorithm. NEW TODAY - Elon (via Testers): SpaceX is pointing the team behind about 90% of all mass to orbit at building AI compute; he says power, cooling and infrastructure, not chips, are now the limit on deploying superintelligence, and called it "the New York Yankees playing in Little League." - Elon (via Testers): SpaceX will try to catch both the Super Heavy booster and the Starship ship on Flight 15; if it works, it would be the first fully recovered orbital launch vehicle. - Elon (SpaceX Q3 2026 earnings call, via Testers): Terafab aims for a first working test chip, probably SRAM, at the Research Fab in Austin around May or June 2027, with volume production at the main Gibbons Creek site around Q3 or Q4 2028. He called these "insanely fast timeframes" and thanked ASML and other suppliers. - Elon (via Testers): his so-called wealth is mostly a percentage ownership in SpaceX and Tesla that he keeps for voting control; it will be taxed heavily, and a few generations from now his descendants would have a tiny fraction of it. - Testers: Elon's view of philanthropy as "reality of goodness over perception of goodness," with Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink and The Boring Company framed as engineering a better future (from his TED talk with Chris Anderson), plus a recap of his 2021 exchange with the UN World Food Programme over a $6B hunger plan. - Testers: Oct 15 recap covering the next-generation Tesla Roadster unveiling near Waco, Falcon 9's USSF-481 launch from Vandenberg, and the Dragon CRS-35 ISS docking. - Testers: Argentina's President Javier Milei called Elon the tech GOAT and a real-life Iron Man.

MULTIPLANET CIVILIZATION — 783 unique (+11 today) NASA's HLS update at IAC 2026: Artemis III is still targeted no earlier than Q3 2027 as a low Earth orbit rehearsal, with Orion docking to a Starship HLS test article and no Moon landing. SpaceX's lunar steps run from a first Cape flight (no earlier than Dec 10) to a propellant transfer demo in Q1 2027 and an uncrewed lunar landing demo in Q4 2027. The first crewed landing is still aimed at Artemis IV in early 2028. Five Starship firsts are due this quarter with one done: the first V3 booster catch, first ship catch, first Florida launch and first reused V3 booster are still to come. NASA's Jared Isaacman is set to brief on speeding up the return to the Moon. Starbase Louisiana is set to break ground in 2027, with a first Starship launch planned for 2029, possibly on Starship V4. Starbase itself is targeting up to 456 launches a year, roughly 45,600 tonnes to orbit, more than 20 times SpaceX's 2025 total. Ship 40 is back home at Starbase as the first Starship to return to its launch site after flight, and Flight 15 next month will try to catch both the booster and the ship. Not Starship-only. dnap shares Brad Gerstner: Elon Musk plans about 10 gigawatts of compute next year. By Gerstner's math, that's roughly 25% of the 43 GW forecast for new US compute. Big plans to watch.
Brad Gerstner reveals SpaceX is building out 25% of all new compute in America next year “It was an extraordinary earnings call. I think the biggest debate in the market today is, do we have enough capital? Do we have enough manpower to build out the data centers across the United States?” “So think about the magnitude of what [Elon] announced last night. He said they're standing up 200,000 GB300s per month. Just a few months ago, that was what he was doing in a year. He says he's going to do that every single month.” “By the end of the year, three gigawatts. He says they're going to stand up 10 gigawatts of compute next year. It's unheard of.” “The forecast for next year, total compute being stood up in the United States, is 43 gigawatts. So SpaceX alone is going to put up 25% of the total gigawatts going up in the United States.” “That's like $400 billion that's going to have to be raised to pay out that compute infrastructure. But it makes very clear, Elon understands we're at the brink of the singularity, we’re entering Super Intelligence.”

Ming highlights Elon Musk with Walter Isaacson on The Builders: if AI and robots outdo us, what gives life meaning? Musk admits he struggles with it, but growing vegetables and cooking for friends is a hopeful start.
One of the best moments from @elonmusk’s conversation with Walter Isaacson on The Builders was about something surprisingly simple: growing vegetables and cooking dinner for friends 🌱 The question behind it is huge: if AI and robots eventually outperform us at everything, what will give our lives meaning? Elon admitted he struggles with that question, but his gardening example offers a hopeful starting point. People already choose to grow food they could easily buy at the store. There’s genuine joy in watching something grow, cooking a meal, and sharing it with people you care about. That same idea applies to art and whatever else we love doing. Even surrounded by extraordinarily capable machines, we can still paint, garden, experiment, and create simply for the joy of it. Imagine what we might discover about ourselves with more freedom to follow that curiosity. That’s an AI future worth looking forward to.

Fireside Alpha shares Elon Musk on Optimus: Tesla plans 10,000 to 20,000 bots doing self-play at an 'Optimus Academy.' No car-style fleet for data, so like a toddler, they learn 'by playing.'
Elon Musk says Tesla needs to build 10,000 to 20,000 Optimus bots and train them through self-play at an Optimus Academy, the way a toddler goes from “wobbly” to learning “to wipe their own ass” “And really, in order for Optimus to get the training data we need, we actually need to make a lot of Optimi. So we need to make, I think, on the order of 10 or 20,000 bots and then have them do self-play. And we’re building up an Optimus Academy where Optimi can practice doing a very wide range of tasks. And then we can use that data in sort of a flywheel to make it better and better at these various tasks.” “A big difference with Optimus versus the cars is we don’t have this vast fleet of cars from which we can gather training data. So with Optimus, we have to bootstrap it by making the robots and having them do self-play, which is really how a human learns to navigate the world.” “You can see this when you have a toddler and they grow up, and they initially are sort of wobbly and they don’t know how to do things, and eventually they learn to wipe their own ass, which is a big milestone. Anyone who’s had kids knows. And then they learn to read and do all sorts of things and be able to do these things. And they learn this by playing. And we actually need Optimus to play at scale in order to have it be really good at tasks in the real world."

Sawyer Merritt shares Elon Musk on Optimus: early production has started and most of the 1 million unit/year Fremont line is installed. He believes it'll be the biggest product on Earth, but says to temper expectations for about a year.
Elon Musk on Optimus: "We've started early production. The growth of Optimus is an S curve, but the initial curve is a shallow slope. We have the vast majority of the 1 million unit/year line installed at Fremont. There's still some things we need to tweak about the design. There's still quite a lot of work to do with the AI in the robot. I would expect that the AI, the electromechanical design, reliability, usage life, expect these issues to be solved by the end of next year. I remain convinced Optimus will be the biggest product on Earth. I do want to temper expectations that we still have a lot to get through, it will take about a year to get through that."
