Well then the aspiring directors shouldn't write, it's pretty simple.

Kinda genuinely Why is the 80 year old man in a gun range. I mean I understand why michael mann would want himself in a gun range but who allows that
Michael Mann has accidentally shot himself in the leg. He was trying to holster his weapon at the gun range when the gun went off, he is now in hospital. (Source: tmz.com/2026/11/01/michael-m…)

I'm glad people are liking Riftbound. We play games to have fun, and if you're have fun playing Riftbound you should, even if it means playing less (or zero) Magic. Lands being the best resource system though? That's a hill I'm willing to die on.

to be fair, villneuve cut out a few other scenes that were really important in establishing message of dune, making it so when chani is just spelling it out, its not as obvious as it is in the books. such as thufir hawat suspecting jessica of planting the hunter seeker, or liet kynes talking about cost of water in bodies at the banquet, or paul's first born son being killed by the baron which causes him to decide to worry about the jihad later and just kill the baron. what people need to realize, which the book doesn't spoon feed and then the movie makes harder to understand, is that paul probably could have possibly avoided the jihad, but becuase he couldn't use prescience to find another option, and because at a certain point he stops even worrying about it and decides he'll figure it out later, he causes the jihad. meaning paul wasn't a "neccessary evil", he was willing to do what he did to the galaxy to get revenge.
Its crazy how Villenueve radically altered Chani's character to make the message of Dune so blindingly obvious that you'd have to be an idiot to not catch the point, and somehow people still don't catch the point

strong musical tradition is one of the only things america has.
Francis Fukuyama: "The lack of a strong national musical tradition contributes to the weakness of American national identity."

Appeal to nature.
Actually, we aren’t that much better than animals. That’s why it’s okay to eat them. It’s part of the food chain, the cycle. You do this when you eat plants too, plants which do communicate with each other btw. We just happen to be at the top of the food chain.

Paul schrader's cinema for both answers
Challenge: Name one piece of media that you like but has a political/social message that you disagree with. Then name a piece of media that you dislike but has a message you *do* agree with.

This is dumb, the progressive behavior is to support the tax increases.
America doesn't have a revolutionary culture, it's just a LARP. People in France set buildings on fire over a 1% tax increase while Americans just kinda watch as the state abducts people off the street.

Loet kynes matters a lot to dune and that villenueve changed him completely and cut so much of him just shows how much he didn't get the books

All cormac mccarthy's novels can be accurately described as westerns though
-David Foster Wallace's masterpiece is a science fiction novel -Cormac McCarthy's masterpiece is a western It's time to admit that elevated genre fiction is the true medium of genius, and that "literary fiction" is for pseuds.

Movie looks bad but maybe it'll be better than barbie and ladybird which were bad movies.
The first trailer for Greta Gerwig's ‘NARNIA’ has been released. In theaters on February 12, 2027.

I've been thinking One battle after another would have been better with John C Reily in Sean Penn's role.

It actually contains none of those things. The Epstein case is fascinating because when you peel back the layers of it all, it’s basically a network of powerful men that have a kink for girls in the 16-19 age range. While it is a scandal, it doesn’t amuse the masses enough.

I don't understand why ridley scott never fought for final cut privileges after blade runner. And then after kingdom of heaven and so on. This has happened so many times. Why does it keep happening.

I say don't believe world of reel
Ridley Scott reportedly blamed Paul Mescal for ‘Gladiator II’ and felt he wasn’t “masculine enough” According to Puck’s Matt Belloni, Scott was unhappy with Mescal after ‘Gladiator II’ and that reportedly contributed to the actor being dropped from ‘The Dog Stars.’ Mescal had originally been attached to star before Jacob Elordi replaced him. His team cited scheduling conflicts with Sam Mendes’ Beatles films, but that explanation has since been disputed. (World of Reel)
