Hello, I have a PhD in astrophysics, and following a powerful brain freeze I had to refer to a telescope as a "space zoom device" today.
Very glad my memes are useful to inspire fellow scientists 😅

@astroclem's overview of designing direct imaging surveys has instilled my confidence in finding my way one day with any bizarre ideas in the quest for expanding our repo of images of exoplanets, and hopefully some in their nascent disks
(PS: I loved the memes!)

What an amazing phenomenon to witness! Absolutely incredible experience
Very happy to see my lonely brown dwarfs (and the Hubble Space Telescope) getting so much love 😁
All by myself... 🎶
Hubble observations show that brown dwarfs – cosmic objects that are too small to be a star, but bigger than Jupiter – don't have long relationships with an orbiting companion.

ALT This artist's concept shows a brown dwarf, an object more massive than a planet but smaller than a star. The dwarf is a cherry-red sphere. It has horizontal stripes of various shades of red that are cloud bands. In the dark background there are myriad stars that are inside our Milky Way galaxy. White text reads "Artist's concept" in the lower right corner.
Getting NASA to publish a press release about a brown dwarf null detection is certainly among my proudest achievements 😏

Celebrated Christmas with a new family this year 🐺☃️
Highly recommend the dogsledding adventure (which doubled up as a wonderful, much-needed animal therapy) 🤩
It was so nice to be back in Edinburgh for the first time since finishing my PhD! 🏴🐮🥃
I even got a rare full-week of good weather in Scotland 😎
It finally came out!!!

Hope you all like null detections 🥴

The new referee is also taking their sweet time and it's now over 4 months after submission and still no report 🥲

Did you miss us? We certainly did!
We know that the summer was rough without talking about astronomy but don't worry, Astro on Tap is coming back soon, with three events in the Fall 😄
See you all in September!

Cannot write more than two words without making a typo in emails today... Luckily I can always count on autocorrect to help!
Obviously, I indeed meant "I book forearm to walking with you" 🥴
