Seeing him after a long time .. remember the massive backlash after Gajendra Chauhan was appointed FTII chairman.. Students and film industry figures strongly opposed it, arguing that he lacked the artistic and academic stature of previous heads like Shyam Benegal or Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
#WATCH | Mumbai: On Naseeruddin Shah’s remarks on the BJP, Actor Gajendra Chauhan says, "... Naseer bane rahiye nasur mat baniye..."
He says, "... If you are so fond of opposing the government, why don't you contest the elections? Contest the elections. I challenge you: wherever you contest the election, I will contest against you, and I will defeat you... This country gave you so much respect as an artist, so much honor, and it's all ruined... I am a worker of the BJP. I will also request the party that if Naseeruddin Shah contests from anywhere, I should be fielded against him..."

In Karnataka they deleted 99,00,000 names and the number of foreigners was 716.
That's right. 99 lakh and 716.
Entire bogey of SIR was "save India from illegal foreigners".

Hello @ceo_karnataka @CEOBihar. Explain this. A BJP member and his wife still has two EPIC IDs. One each in Bihar and one each in Karnataka. Their names are still present even after Final SIR roll.
I'd flagged by tagging you last year. But it's still there.
Tathasstu🙏🏼
Biggest lesson from the last decade: a political party that took no part in the freedom movement and disrespected those struggles and sacrifices will never have respect for the Constitution, for Parliament, for democratic institutions, and for people's rights and freedoms.
It will take another decade to restore and repair all that has been destroyed, but India will do it.

Tata is being criminally destroyed, and no business leader dares say a word.
How long will you stay silent? Until they own you?
Indian business is not Modi and Shah's plaything. You lack courage. We don't. We will ensure justice for these crimes.

Don't worry about the police, don't worry about lathis - the BJP will not have the guts to try any of their antics.
Come march with us - we will walk together to protect the Constitution, to protect the Indian nation.
घबराने की जरूरत नहीं है।
I urge all student groups, regardless of your political affiliation - if you feel that India is under attack, if you feel you are under attack, your expression, your ideas, your way of thinking is under attack, come and join us.
It will be a fantastic march, and it's a march for the soul of this country.
Looking forward to seeing all of you there.

After years of gloom in the shadow of Donald Trump, Narendra Modi, Jair Bolsonaro, and others of their ilk, progressives and liberals around the world are finding cause to celebrate. On Monday, Brazil’s President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, defeated the far-right challenger, Flávio Bolsonaro, in his country’s Presidential runoff. Between Lula’s victory and events earlier this year in Hungary, where the long-ruling nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was ousted in elections, the White House has lost two hugely symbolic allies in its broader right-wing global culture war. No clear winner has yet emerged in the Israeli election, in which Trump had endorsed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and which saw a historic turnout of Arab voters. And the U.S. President may be humbled further in next week’s midterms, as Democrats eye taking both the House and the Senate.
At the same time, protests have broken out across the world. People have taken to the streets in India, France, Belgium, Spain, Albania, and Italy; among their demands are access to affordable housing, job opportunities for young people, relief from the cost of living, and greater investment in schools. “There’s no simple narrative bringing together all the separate uprisings,” Ishaan Tharoor writes. But across the world, on the streets and at the ballot box, the right-wing movement is facing a backlash. Read Tharoor’s latest column: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/-a…

Everyone should listen to @PawanKhera Ji to understand the truth about what happened today in Patna.
Congress President @Kharge Ji was saying that Narendra Modi will go to jail for committing Vote Chori. Then a BJP worker shouted at him that Modi would not go anywhere even if his father came. Kharge Ji replied that not just Modi, but his ideological father, the RSS, would also go.
Now tell us, is it okay to abuse an 84-year-old Dalit leader? Does the BJP endorse the abuse directed at Congress President @Kharge Ji, one of the tallest Dalit leaders?

Deccan Chronicle: Modi has now chosen to call the Congress, which his party wanted to eliminate from the Indian political scene, “parasite”; and those who oppose the ideas of the ruling party “dimaagi Naxals”. It [is]... hardly a quality that befits the Prime Minister of India.

The SIR is a Scam!
Former CEC S.Y. Quraishi calls the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls “nothing less than a fiasco” and “a scam” driven by “complete bad intention.”
Speaking in a wide-ranging interview recorded for the London Vārta with me in London, Mr Quraishi said the exercise finds no mention in the Constitution, the Representation of the People Act, or the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. “For the last 75 years, the Election Commission has been updating the electoral rolls every year,” he noted. “All three of these laws apply in this case, and none of them contains any provision for an SIR.”
He highlighted the one-sided nature of the process: “In today’s controversy we’ve seen deletions, deletions, deletions everywhere. There should also be additions somewhere. If people have migrated from here, they must have gone somewhere. But all these migrations were happening in thin air. Nearly 130 million migrated from where to where?”
On the stated rationale, Quraishi pointed to the launch in Bihar: “When this exercise began, you may recall, in the press conference in Bihar the CEC said that there are lots of infiltrators here, and to catch the infiltrators we will do a Special Intensive Revision. They made 80 million people run around, because they introduced several new things. To this day it is not known how many infiltrators were caught. Please tell us that. That’s interesting. After the revision in Bihar, it never came out how many infiltrators there actually were—the ones for whom, in a way, the whole exercise was being done.”
