As PG&E files for bankruptcy, I have a personal story to share about them. Thread. (1/n)
“Energy/ai twitter” ouch. That hurts. Energy twitter being equated to ai twitter.
Not sure why you thought that precluded you from using common sense @hamandcheese . “If we consider unborn AI data centers as people, this is murder” is truly a choice as a framing!
Oh wow this is 90s “India can’t beat Pakistan on a Friday” levels of logical reasoning @quinoa_biryani

I dislike this framing of socialism vs market dynamics. As @NiyerEnergy has eloquently put it, the rules for the market are by definition non-market policy choices. a fully dereg. market, for an essential good with huge political consequences to prices, is a pipe dream.
The crazy thing about this whole debate is that the right *is correct* that the problem is socialism, but they are also guilty of *that same socialism* in their own states.
We socialize the cost of peak demand, making distributed solutions (insulation, distributed generation, efficient HVAC, etc.) artificially unprofitable.
We then have huge fights over the cost of providing the expensive centralized solution, don't build it, plead for people to reduce demand, and then ration electricity.
Everywhere does this.
It *is* the socialism that's the issue, but it's not Mamdani's socialism.
With real price signals and real markets, this problem goes away.
Sounds like a skill issue. Grew up at sea level and I thrive at 3400 m and I’m no professional athlete! Nothing stopped England from training in high altitudes instead of at a beach pub. @Alonso_GD
There are few better joys than seeing your (home or adopted) country qualify for the World Cup. Seeing Chile and Italy not qualify comes really close!
All this concern about the depiction of a dead poet while a living “poet” continues to live freely and with recognition despite being a proven lecherous lout. Maybe it’s time you shut that septic tank explosion of a disaster that is your mouth, Vairamuthu.

The clearest explanation thread (short) I’ve ever seen for the discrepancy between actual rent and listing price! This man is a gift that keeps giving!
I’m old enough to remember when Alonso was branded a “tankie”because he dared to criticize *gasp* the state violence against protestors in 2022/23

De hecho lo que te molestó fue que critiqué al etnocacerismo y a quienes se suman a él sin crítica - eso es chancar a “las opciones de izquierda”? Pregunto porque la última vez no me contestaste

I was watching the IPL on Willow TV and then switched over to Star Sports.
It really made me realize what a luxury Willow TV is!
There are barely any ads. When an over ends, you actually get to see who the next bowler is and watch them set the field, it's just pure, uninterrupted cricket.
On Star Sports, the second the last ball is bowled, it cuts straight to a commercial.
The ads stay on until the bowler is literally running in for the next ball, so you completely miss who is bowling.
With ads crammed in after every over and every wicket, it feels like I'm watching commercials with occasional cricket sprinkled in.
Ah yes @besttrousers , famous for only questioning one side of the political aisle. 60% ring a bell?
