After finally read this gem by @bbculp it’s clear that we need to find a way to make lactate testing more accessible

It pains me to say this, but @bbculp you’re a good d*mn writer. Sitting in airport without a strong wifi signal and this is a fun read.
Things more impressive than a Hyrox:
Marathon
Half marathon
Literally any triathlon
Riding a Peloton for like 2 hours
A pretty long hike
Shoveling in Wisconsin
Taking your kids to a water park
Flossing regularly
Having a meal with your in-laws

ANNOUNCING!
America’s best endurance athlete joins Team Rebel Health. Morgan Pearson is a two time silver medalist in Triathlon and he’s just inches away from Gold. So he called us.
Excited to be on the journey to Los Angeles 2028 with Morgan!

The problem with "estimating" thresholds with any metric other than lactate is that you end up estimating where you want your threshold to be and not where it actually is at the moment.

Brad Culp, author of the Norwegian Method, profiles our very own Ed Latimore. Awesome work.
Going to start posting some longer form stuff on Medium. To start, I wrote 4700 words about writer, fighter and influencer @EdLatimore, who is back to professional boxing at age 40. medium.com/@bbculp/ed-5-0-bb…

Holiday shopping for the overtrainer in your life can be tough. What do you get someone who has everything except new ways to overtain in 2026?
The answer? My book. They'll be overtraining so much that you probably won't see or hear from them all year. amazon.com/Norwegian-Method-…

Coming Tomorrow: Why the Norwegian Method Is overrated and what actually drives success.
Inspired by last weekend’s podium and the recent work by @bbculp in his book, as well as decades of experimentation by the Norwegians.
This goes beyond sports 🧵👇
PS - Do yourself a favor: buy Brad’s book and stop taking advice from YouTube bros sweating in saunas, preaching lactate, double thresholds and heat training like they're ancient secrets passed down by Viking ghosts. amazon.com/Norwegian-Method-…

Couple take aways from the @IRONMANtri
- The depth and speed up front even when you account for the tech advances is still mind blowing. Let's say the bike and shoe tech from 15 years ago is making athletes 5% faster. That's still 8h20 ish.. which use to be winning times on relatively flat courses.
- I think it's a massive shame that the WC's can't keep rotating with Nice. The main argument I would hear is 'yeah but it doesn't have the history'. Nothing has history before you give it time to build history!
It would be hard to find a more fair course to identify the best of the best.
- The coverage was great. @CrowieAlexander and @Frasertri were terrific and need more air time. There could always be more focus on the battles behind the lead to keep it interesting.
- The Norwegians.. ok @bbculp I'm going to have to buy your damn book.
- We did a pod to chat more about the day. instagram.com/triathlon_ther…

Before we jump on the 🚂🚂🚂 of the Norwegian Method, let’s get something clear: it’s not just about “the workouts or the coaches”
It’s the country.
It’s the education system.
It’s the culture.
It’s the investment in both summer & winter sports, decades ago.
Norway didn’t stumble onto magic intervals. They built an ecosystem; long-term commitment, collaboration over rivalry, science meeting practice; that allows talent to thrive.
And honestly, I’d love to see 1 country sweeping 3 podium spots.
Not because of medals, but because it would prove something bigger:
Long-term vision
Commitment to youth
Investment in education pays off
