Dear Trump & the GOP, You screwed us every day for two years. You replaced patriots with criminal morons who suck on Trump's teats. You looted, started wars, made life unbearable and America unrecognizable. You almost broke us. Almost. Now it's our turn. C U Next Tuesday.

Look, it has become obvious to me, the people who love, support and defend democracy in the United States of America have had it. Trump, and those associated with him are going to be so overwhelmingly rejected a week from today, that Donald Trump will throw a very scary, dangerous, and futile fit, and attempt to use any means necessary to negate the results The nation, has already negated him. It doesn’t matter what he attempts. He. Will. Not. Prevail. The American citizens who believe in the rule of law, and the U.S. Constitution will prevail.

The person who yelled, "Shove that ballroom up your fat ass," at Trump has done more for this country than most members of Congress. And that's a hill I'll die on.

There was a phrase in my youth: "Any prosecutor worth his salt could indict a ham sandwich." The Trump administration's prosecutions are a sham and a disgrace, and it's reassuring that juries see this.

This is the case for impeachment and removal. It needs no further investigation; no waiting for court decisions; no delays for the Chief Justice to assemble his impeachment outfit…The USA is in a state of emergency. We cannot leave America’s fate in the hands of a madman.
Deservedly scathing op-ed by the NYT: “If Democrats retake both houses of Congress, and more state governments than they now control, it will tell the world that Mr. Trump does not represent most Americans. It will demonstrate that a country that starts to slide toward autocracy can move back to normalcy, as happened in Hungary this spring. Most important, it will create a desperately needed check on Mr. Trump during his final two years in office. … In a 21-month span, he has done more harm to democracy and the rule of law than any other president in the modern era and perhaps longer than that. He has broken his oath to defend the Constitution by trying to rewrite it on his own. He has refused to honor Congress’s power of the purse and misused national security laws for political ends. He has defied federal court orders on Medicaid funding, deportation orders and more. He has dismantled the Justice Department’s legacy as an impartial enforcer of federal law, turning it into an instrument of retribution against his adversaries while canceling investigations into his allies. He has appointed inept sycophants to oversee crucial government functions, including law enforcement, national defense and public health. He has sought to disenfranchise large numbers of voters, claiming fraud that cannot be found, and championed an extreme new approach to partisan gerrymandering. He has physically besmirched the White House by demolishing the East Wing and financing a garish renovation with donations from wealthy allies.” nytimes.com/2026/10/27/opini…

it is not an exaggeration to say that a Blakeman election would destroy the MTA ultimate contrast from Hochul who saved the MTA post-Covid and has embarked on aggressive expansion plans for the IBX and second ave subway

I’m still angry that people remain this divorced from reality.
I’m still angry Trump was cheated out of 2020. I’m still angry Kari Lake was cheated out of Arizona. I’m still angry Spencer Pratt was cheated out of Los Angeles. Most of all, I’m angry it keeps happening and our government won’t do anything about it.

I’m old enough to remember when leftists argued that Dems should throw reproductive rights under the bus in order to get M4A through. Of course that’s kind of moot now that they helped get Roe overturned anyway.
Nobody remembers but 7 years ago it was à la mode for the online far-left to make elaborate arguments re: throwing trans people under the bus to appease Joe Rogan's audience. Now they lie about Dems wanting trans genocide. Inconsistent partners who treat people/issues as pawns.

If you're concerned about the constitutionality of temporarily infringing on California voter rights by the DOJ, consider this analogy. Imagine the DOJ identifies 20,000 residents in a state it believes might be legally prohibited from possessing firearms. Rather than first verifying those individuals are prohibited, the DOJ demands that state police confiscate their firearms until their eligibility can be established. Some of those people are undoubtedly lawful gun owners, but the DOJ argues that preventing even one gun crime justifies temporarily taking firearms away from thousands of potentially innocent people. Would we accept that reasoning as sufficient to override Second and Fourth Amendment protections? That's essentially the constitutional concern raised by the DOJ's demand to sequester ballots from 20,000 registered California voters it believes might be noncitizens. The right to vote of lawful voters has a very real chance of being infringed. Does the government's desire to prevent unlawful activity justify restricting constitutional rights before it has established that the affected individuals are legally disqualified from exercising them?

As Trump continues his Big Cheat campaign re the Nov 3 midterms, the importance of the willingness of the American people to stand up to Trumps treason becomes of paramount importance. Trump can only get away with his scumbaggery if we let him. Resist, everyone! It's our duty!

I think the fundamental YIMBY insight is that, if you live in a society which imposes artificial scarcity on basic necessities like housing and health care, then there is no amount of redistribution which will make them broadly available to the poor. You need supply-side changes.
