Learning to read well at school has flow on effects for a lifetime. But one in three Australian children are unable to read proficiently.

ALT Social media graphic of a child with brown skin and black hair reading a book and looking up. The text promotes the Grattan Podcast and contains the quote: ‘We are calling on governments as well as the Catholic and independent sector to commit to a Reading Guarantee. And what we mean by that is building a high reliability system so that parents and students can have confidence that they’ll have best practice teaching every day.’
Congratulations to the Fairfield Network, as part of @NSWEducation. Today we celebrated the ridiculously talented students within our network and advocated for opportunity and success. Thanks for organising @lisaporter555 This has had a wonderful impact across our schools!

Back at Cabramatta Public School today to speak to Western Sydney leaders about the reforms we need to make in education.
I also got a chance to visit my old Kindergarten classroom and catch up with Mrs Fry 😊
I love my football and as a neutral supporter, really proud of the Mariners. Great job to all involved. Let’s all get behind @aleaguemen and @aleaguewomen next season and this winter get down to some @NPLNSW to support the next group of kids coming through!

A busy week after checking out Vivid last weekend. Certainly feels like the middle of term 2! Immensely proud of the @CabraPS students who performed at the Fairfield Principal’s Network meeting. Thanks @lisaporter555 for providing an opportunity for our students to perform!
HPGE policy in action! After identifying and assessing students across the creative domain in term 1, @CabraPS is providing opportunities for students to enrich and extend their learning opportunities. For some, today was the first time they had played in front of an audience!
Proud to announce that @CabraPS has been shortlisted for an Excellence Award. We are proud of the opportunities we provide through quality public education! More info to follow soon. Well done to staff, students and parents!
After a fantastic round of nominations, The Educator is proud to announce the Excellence Awardees for the Australian Education Awards 2023.
