When PFAS concentrations fall below laboratory reporting limits, they are sometimes treated as zero. A new study suggests this practice may be hiding low levels of contamination in U.S. drinking water.

U.S. is a big reason the world is losing ground in the fight against climate change, U.N. report says
U.S. was only major economy that failed last year to reduce its carbon pollution or at least slow the growth in how much c02 is spewed by burning fossil fuels.

PFAS, the “forever chemicals” contaminating water supplies worldwide, should be a much bigger environmental priority. These chemicals persist for decades, and their widespread presence in rainwater shows how far the contamination has spread. We cannot keep using substances that threaten the very ecosystems and water sources life depends on.

The European study found trifluoroacetic acid, or TFA, in all 110 participants, at a level the report describes as among the highest yet measured in humans. No benchmark tied to health effects has yet been set for TFA levels in human blood.

Sorry, but this is absolute nonsense. The reason people haven’t acted on climate change is because the massive amount of disinformation being pumped out from most of the media that for decades has said it’s probably not true.
The opposite is true. This woolly false hope forced positivity mentality is exactly why people don’t understand it’s the existential life-and-death-billions-of-us-at-risk crisis that it is.

“Biodiverstiy loss” isn’t a term that motivates people. “Extinction of animals and plants” does.
I’m updating my vocabulary from now whenever I talk about this. Reminder that the foods you eat affects the extinction of animals in the natural world!

Instead of ensuring that the 2 most toxic PFAS known to humans are not manufactured anymore in the U.S., this administration thought it better to just change the language on its website
But hey, at least really rich people will make even more money 🙄

“If you have a chemical and there’s no safe level of it, then why on earth would you allow it to be manufactured?…This all makes perfect sense if you understand the reality that the EPA is an arm of industry, especially under the Trump administration.”
Robert F Kennedy Jr, if he is actually trying to Make America Healthy Again could tackle this by himself by using the FDA to get thr PFAS chemical class out of our food and food containers. But he won’t. Because he is also captured by the chemical industry.

With another school shooting, this time in Bend, Oregon, it might be a good time to point out that Bill Clinton’s assault weapons ban almost halved mass shooting deaths - but after George W Bush & Republicans let it expire, mass shooting deaths more than doubled. It’s the guns.
