The Division also promotes and maintains active communication between resident and non-resident Ghanaians. Our CEO, Yofi Grant, was present at the book launch of “When We Returned: From Chains to Crown,” (authored by the CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr Akwasi Agyeman), in Accra last week. The book recounts Mr Agyeman’s personal experiences during the “Beyond the Return” campaign, which aims at strengthening ties between Africa and the Diaspora. During the launch, he revealed his inspiration for writing the book, describing how the Year of Return and his visits to Ghana’s historical dungeons had a significant impact on him. H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, who was the special guest of honour at the event, highlighted the value of African storytelling and the need to ensure that Africa’s story is one of triumph and progress.
