In2026, nothing is more important than victory.
Even the pyrrhic kind.
I am beyond disappointed in this election. And quite frankly, I’m disappointed in the direction California continues to go.
At what point do we stop making elections about whether we like or dislike Donald Trump and start making them about what’s actually happening in our own state?
We’re dealing with high taxes, an outrageous cost of living, a homelessness crisis, struggling businesses, and ongoing discussions about taxing people for the miles they drive. These are real issues affecting hardworking Californians every single day.
What frustrates me most is the feeling that some people are so determined to vote against anything associated with Trump that they’re willing to overlook the problems right here at home.
California has been under Democratic leadership for years, and I think it’s more than fair to question the results of that leadership.
You don’t have to like Trump. You don’t have to agree with everything he says or does. But shouldn’t we be looking at the policies, the track records, and the future of California instead of making everything about one man?
I’m tired of watching hardworking people struggle to afford to live in a state they’ve called home their entire lives.
At some point, California needs to be more important than our feelings about whoever happens to be sitting in the White House or what party they belong to
That’s where my disappointment comes from. Fueled by democratic rhetoric paid for by wealthy liberals who have trained so many to just vote by the letter beside the name
Do you think California is working out for the average person?

She’s a supernova of self-righteousness.
If conservatives are the ones who hate everybody (supposedly) in the country how come you never see us acting like this? Why is it always liberals acting like overgrown toddlers having a temper tantrum? These are the people who condemn hate by the way. The ones who call you a bad person for hating somebody. But somehow when they do it, it's different.

My friend Ayako has translated American movies and TV shows into Japanese subtitles for 22 years.
Above her desk, taped to the wall, is a handwritten list.
"American sentences that do not exist in Japanese."
She let me copy it.
1. "I'm good."
Means yes. Means no. Means I'm full, I'm fine, I'm leaving, and please stop asking. She has translated it 31 different ways. She thinks she was right about half the time.
2. "Bless your heart."
She translated it as a blessing for six years. Then a woman from Alabama explained it to her, very sweetly. She had to go back and fix four movies.
3. "Hold my beer."
Japanese has no phrase for the moment right before a man does something stupid for a cheering crowd. She subtitled it "Someone please call an ambulance." Nobody has ever complained.
4. "Love you, bye."
American men say this to their fathers. On the phone. Fast. Like "see you later." In Japanese, "I love you" to your father is a deathbed sentence. The first time she subtitled it, the whole Japanese audience thought the father was dying.
He was asking about the Cowboys game.
5. "Come here."
An American sees someone crying, says two words, and opens his arms. In Japan, we ask "Are you okay?" and look very carefully at the floor.
6. "Proud of you, kid."
Japanese has the words. Japanese fathers just don't use them. Ayako has typed this line more than 400 times. She had heard it in her own house zero times.
Her father is 78. A retired machinist. The quietest man I know. He speaks maybe ten words of English.
Last spring, he went to see a movie she had translated. Alone. He didn't tell anyone.
That night, her phone rang.
He said it in English. Exactly the way the American dad said it on the screen.
"Proud of you, kid."
Then he hung up. Immediately. Before she could say a word.
Japanese fathers have not changed that much.
She sat on her kitchen floor for an hour.
He didn't say it in English because he forgot the Japanese.
He said it in English because in English, it was allowed.
America, you think you're just talking. Love you, bye. Come here. Proud of you.
You've been handing the whole world words we didn't know we were allowed to say.
Some of us are finally using them.
What is it that makes so many people unable to accept reality?
Woman’s car breaks down on the side of a tree-lined road while a tow is already on the way
Officer on scene, tow truck already called. She’s standing next to it in a blue top as they wait. Standard roadside breakdown, no other vehicles involved, just a stranded car and a wait for the truck.
No crash, no other traffic issues visible just the car out of commission until the tow shows up.
Pete Hegseth would be a terrific president, but if he truly does not want to run, then I hope Vance or Rubio wins and keeps him on as Secretary of War, where he is doing an excellent job.
All true. Your and Steve Hilton’s campaign ads were genius marketing—yet you both still lost because your messages were crushed by the blue wave of generations of godless humanistic indoctrination in our schools, universities, and news media and the resulting moral decay. How do we market ourselves to victory over that?
We're in a new era of communication, and only one side seems to be living in it. The old guard consultant class is about to be relegated to the dustbin of history.
If you think that high prices lost the election for the right, you don't understand marketing. Humans have no problem paying a premium for a good quality brand. Notice the word "brand", not "product". Are Nikes better than New Balance? Nope. But the brand is better. And notice what happened when they tinkered with the brand and screwed their core narrative? Nike stock fell through the basement. Did the product change? Nope. The brand did.
It's not the product, it's the brand. Results don't sell the product, the storytelling does. Will these newly-elected commies lower prices? Of course not. Are they gonna get you free healthcare? No, your insurance is gonna get even worse, just like it did the last time they tried socialized medicine. They're not going to do anything they've sold you, but...like Saul Goodman said: if you're committed enough, you can make any story work.
The committed storytelling of a couple insane podcasters was enough to fracture an entire political coalition from their own side in less than 2 years...they have zero power, zero credibility, they've never actually governed anything nor produced any results, but...they're good storytellers, and that's all that matters. Are they telling a good story? No, it's atrocious, but they're telling their atrocious story effectively and compellingly.
It is 100% true that everything's too damn expensive, and we all know that inflated prices are always sticky. Does anyone know that it's entirely the result of shutting down the global economy over the flu and (both naive republicans and democrats) printing infinity dollars for several years? Nope...because nobody has effectively told that story, and it's an unsexy story to tell. "Free stuff!" is a VERY easy story to tell, and when everyone's gotta take out a second mortgage just to pay their insurance premiums, "free healthcare" is an unbeatable story. It doesn't matter that "free healthcare" doesn't exist and socialized medicine is a terrible product...it's not the product, it's the brand. And "FREE!" is a great brand.
You can't get mad at people for having the financial literacy of a 9 year old. I mean, you can, but they outnumber you a million to one, so it's not going to be productive. You need to figure out how to make an unsexy story sexy, or else the "free stuff!" crowd is going to eat your lunch every time. If you give people a choice between earning a six pack on a treadmill or taking Ozempic, they're gonna choose Ozempic...they don't care about the side effects. If you give people a choice between fiscal discipline or free stuff...guess what they'll pick? They don't care about the side effects.
With projected growth of 5%, the economy right now is stronger than it's been in generations. Is that the story you hear? Nope. Is that the vibe you feel? Absolutely not, especially when every time you fill up your gas tank, it feels like a diesel enema.
It's not the product, it's the brand. A great product can fall into oblivion with bad messaging...a single bad review from one effective storyteller can tank a restaurant. The "influencer economy" is lucrative for a reason; everybody inherently understands the importance of effective storytelling...except the right. Zohran Mamdani gets it...he has an army of influencers on staff. In a perfect metaphor of this transitional phase of old guard vs new wave political messaging, Zohran nuked the Vice President into oblivion with maybe the biggest ratio in the history of the internet. By simply posting the subway assistant meme, Mamdani got 2 MILLION likes, quoting a post from the VP that had only 10K likes. If you're reading that sentence thinking "this is fucking ridiculous, you're talking about social media likes as political analysis now?"...you are the problem.
Yes, this stuff matters. Rizz matters. The President did a masterful job of this kind of retail politics in his historic 2024 campaign...you can be angry that this is what politics has been reduced to, but you can either adapt or die.
"No the problem is, you didn't deliver enough for the American people!" Are you a moron? Since when does anybody care about that? What have democrats delivered for Californians in the last 20 years? Unmitigated wildfires, homeless drug zombies everywhere, roads that look like Fallujah in 2004...people don't care about results. They think they care about results. That want you to believe they care about results, just as Nike wants you to believe their shoes are better than New Balance...but at the end of the day, all people really care about is the swoosh.
Adapt or die.
The only people who want socialism are the ones at the top who will benefit from it and those at the bottom who mistakenly believe they will benefit from it.
“But what about the deaths caused by capitalism?”
When discussing economic systems, I often highlight how Marxist socialism devastated Africa and other regions of the world, leading to the deaths of millions of people. Inevitably, someone responds: “But what about the deaths caused by capitalism?”
This response reveals a fundamental misunderstanding that needs addressing. It blames capitalism not just for greed, but for all of humanity’s darker instincts, as if free markets somehow invented human flaws.
Let’s get something straight: greed, exploitation, and cruelty have existed throughout human history, long before anyone conceived of property rights or free enterprise.
1/ Greed Predates Capitalism
Long before Adam Smith put pen to paper, humans had already committed unspeakable acts of greed, conquest, and exploitation:
- Genghis Khan ran a brutal empire that expanded through violence and rape. According to genetic studies, around 8% of men in a large region of Asia carry DNA linked to him.
- The Atlantic Slave Trade was powered by kings, empires, tribal chiefs, and European monarchies, most of whom operated under imperial and monarchical structures.
- In pre-revolutionary France, the monarchy, nobility, and upper clergy lived in great privilege and luxury, while the vast majority of peasants (about 80% of the population) endured poverty, heavy taxation, and frequent hunger.
There have always been selfish, greedy, and rapacious people, and there always will be, as long as humans exist. Every economic and political system has had greedy people in it. The difference is whether that system limits their power or lets it run wild.
2/ The Enemies Invented “Capitalism”
The word “capitalism” was coined by socialist critics in the 19th century, including Louis Blanc, Pierre-Joseph Proudhon and Karl Marx.
They used it to criticize the system they believed would inevitably collapse. Since they coined the term, it means whatever socialists want it to mean. That’s why the socialism vs. capitalism debate is often a Trojan horse to avoid admitting that free markets actually work.
Adam Smith (who is often called the “father of capitalism”) never actually used the word. Instead, he described natural liberty, where:
“Every man, as long as he does not violate the laws of justice, is left perfectly free to pursue his own interest his own way.”
(The Wealth of Nations)
John Locke, whose ideas heavily influenced America’s founding documents, focused on natural rights to “life, liberty, and property” in his Second Treatise of Government (1689). He argued these rights existed prior to government, which was instituted specifically to protect them.
When the American Founders created the US Constitution, they didn’t use the word capitalism either. The Bill of Rights protects individual freedoms like freedom of speech, religion, assembly, property, and due process, all of which protect individuals from both tyrants and mobs.
In other words, the core principles we now associate with “capitalism” were never about enriching the few. They were about protecting the many from power, whether it came from kings, mobs, or bureaucrats.
3/ Voluntary Socialism
Here’s the thing: if a group of people want to live communally, they should absolutely have that freedom. Such voluntary arrangements don’t require state coercion or enforcement.
For instance:
- The Amish live simply and share resources, but joining is voluntary, and people are free to leave if they choose.
- Kibbutzim are intentional communities in Israel, traditionally based on agriculture and collective ownership. Membership is voluntary, and individuals are free to leave at any time.
- Monasteries and religious orders have lived communally for centuries and continue to operate around the world, with monks and nuns sharing resources, labor, and prayer.
This is voluntary socialism, and no free-market advocate has a problem with it.
Marxist socialism is something else entirely. It calls for revolution, the abolition of private property, and stateless dictatorships with no respect for individual rights. It caused 65–94 million deaths, with some estimates exceeding 100 million.
It’s worth noting that capitalism even gives people the freedom to experiment with Marxist ideals.
In a free market, you’re allowed to create worker-owned businesses based on Marx’s labor theory of value if you want to. Cooperatives, mutual aid societies, and communal living models can and do exist under capitalism.
Every system has greedy people, but only free market capitalism, rooted in individual rights and the rule of law, limits their power through competition, transparency, and choice.
First clean explanation I’ve read on the subject.
I really had no intention of writing an article about Iran in 1953. Frankly, it isn’t a sufficient explanation for the Islamic Republic's actions since 1979.
But, every time I mention those actions, the internet's resident pedants emerge from the woodwork shrieking:
“BUT WHAT ABOUT 1953?!”
Fine. You want to talk about 1953?
Let's talk about the real history: Britain, Mossadegh, Eisenhower, the CIA, and the Shah - who, incidentally, was the SAME Shah before AND after the coup.
And then let's examine what Khomeini actually wanted, because THAT is where the familiar narrative starts falling apart.
I didn't intend to write this article. But apparently, some people cannot distinguish historical context from a perpetual excuse for bad behavior.
So here we are. 😂

I still think most of them are Democrats trolling us.
Looks like some old-time establishment Republicans are excitedly rooting for the Marxist-Islamist Democrats to win a landslide on Tuesday. I've been around a long time. I was an early Reagan activist, Tea Party activist, Convention of States activist, and Trump supporter. I've written several of the most successful books on our founding, the Constitution, and conservatism in the last quarter-century. Every damn one of these people is a disgrace. Self-righteous, self-aggrandizing fools. The Democrat Party tells us how it intends to dismantle our society and Constitution, how it is going to massively increase the power of the federal government well beyond anything we've ever seen, how it intends to institute wealth taxes and trillions more in spending (beyond anything we've ever seen), how it will destroy immigration enforcement and local law enforcement, and on and on. Yet, these people claim they are the principled ones, they are the true conservatives, they are the voices of past patriots, when in fact, they are disgraceful. Like the Woke Right, they provide support for the Marxist-Islamist Democrats who will permanently destroy our institutions -- from the Supreme Court to the Electoral College -- if given the chance. They see what is happening in France and most of Europe, and they close their eyes, so obsessed are they with being proven "right" and intent on taking down Donald Trump. Shame on them. They live in their own little corner of the world, reinforcing each other's insularity, imprudence, and narcissism, as they wait in the wings ready to cheer their hoped-for Republican electoral loss on Tuesday. Of course, history tells us mid-term elections go to the party out of power. But I admire those who are fighting like hell, voting and urging others to vote, and tirelessly campaigning, to defy the odds and try to save the republic from a tyrannical Democrat Party.
Let's hope those were illegal ballots harvested from homeless folks and senior citizen nursing homes.
Replying to @CAgovernor
@CAgovernor Any ideas on this situation Gavin? Or is this just how securely ballots in California are handled? Apparently the Chain of Custody has broken down.
