Thinking you can drag the Catholic Church kicking and screaming into something shows you don’t believe it’s dogmatic truth claims, ironically
Once we enact remigration the Catholic Church will have to be dragged kicking and screaming into that new world.

China's Mexico is SE Asia, Europe's Mexico is MENA
“China doesn’t have a Mexico. Europe doesn’t have a Mexico. We do.” Texas billionaire Ross Perot Jr. says a fully integrated North America has the demographics and resources needed to compete globally, calling Mexico key to the region’s ability to “grow and prosper." He spoke at Bloomberg Invest Dallas bloom.bg/3UL0b7P

Everytime I watch a classic horror film I think. Why isnt this 8 hours long with a cliffhanger every hour?
HBO is officially developing ‘THE BIRDS’, a new series inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's film. Starring Sarah Snook, the series is a modern-day reimagining of the film set in Alaska with a murder mystery at the center. (Source: Deadline)

It has always been this for me. It always serves as a personal reminder that we can act accordingly and treat our planet with care if we want to.
I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

Sick and tired of academics finding coded allusions to different social classes in Victorian novels. Pip wants to be a gentleman guys. Not everything is about class
Imagine studying music and being taught that Beethoven's greatest achievement was revealing the class structures of nineteenth-century Europe. That's essentially what happens in far too many English departments.

In pacific rim, japanese child actress Mana Ashida struggled to pronounce Guillermo del Toro's name so instead she nicknamed him "Gordo cabrón hijodeputa" which displeased the director but he was too shy to correct her

The bubble will pop but prices will not reset lol
It’s 2029. The AI bubble has burst. Your rent is $900 for a two bedroom. You bought a new high end graphics card for $125 because there are too many hitting the market. You’re living off the massive government settlement w/ai companies, spacex, amazon, and meta for price gouging

White people don’t say “trashy” anymore they say [country] B
There is Japan A and Japan B. Westerners associate Japan with Japan A, which includes minimalism, Zen Buddhism, appreciation of handicraft, manners etc. etc., but there is Japan B too, loud, chaotic, kitsch, cluttered, sexually explicit and also kind of "3rd-world".

A big barrier to entry into hard right wing politics as currently constructed is that you have to be sexually attracted to cartoon children to be in the club. If they loosen up some of these rules, I think their movement could see more success.
Dept of Education is embracing the "malfoid" meme, a right-wing fan fiction idea about a female Draco Malfoy who Harry Potter could fall in love with. xitter.cf/usedgov/status/2115069…

"University researchers built a satellite that tracks people from low Earth orbit and dispatches a 5 kg payload to within .1 meter of their position, traveling at Mach 25 to anywhere on Earth in under 5 minutes. They suggest it could be used to deliver greeting cards."
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

Hard not to notice what a losing hand guys like Bret are stuck with. Had to go from talking about the "kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful country in the world!" to a blanket demand that everyone just stop talking or knowing anything about Israel.
NYT's Bret Stephens whines that Democrats know "Smotrich and Ben-Gvir" but not "the interior minister of Japan." Their "obsession" with Israel drives him "crazy." (Being politically informed on Israel is now anti-Semitic.)

Being an american Maoist in the 70s must have been so humilating. You were getting your skull caved in by a cop, Little Red Book in hand, meanwhile Mao was hanging out with Kissinger going "Dude your wife is so hot.".
