1/5 Hey @Apple and @EU_Commission, In our family of 5, we bought 3 Apple MAC computers over the last 15 years. Now also the most recent one no longer receives OS updates (and as a result also no MS Office updates). This has nothing to do with “an outdated slow computer”...
4/5 When will the EU oblige Apple to guarantee OS updates for at least 15 years for operating systems, when the hardware and processor is not at all outdated (and demand that Apple explains their customers what part of the hardware has to be updated to get OS updates again.
5/5 This would be a good example of how the EU can support consumers who want to act sustainably. #EU #apple #sustainability #electronics #supplychain
As an example; after phase 1/2 trials are completed, pivotal phase 3 trials on new antifungal drugs typically take another 3 to 5 years to complete (5/8)
What we learned from these studies may one day proof to be very useful when new infections emerge (and they certainly will!) (7/8)

It took patience and perseverance but after huge efforts by research teams from the USA, Spain, Argentina and the Netherlands we are finally getting somewhere (1/8)
Compared with untreated patients, those who received high-titer convalescent plasma in the first 5 days after symptom onset had 51% lower risk of hospital admission (3/8)
In this study now published in Clinical Infectious Diseases, the results from 2300 patients included in 5 randomized trials were pooled together and analyzed (2/8)

Today The Climate Book is finally released in many parts of the world!
I want to use my platform to share the reality of the climate crisis – to communicate a holistic picture of how the world is changing and what we need to do about it. That is why I created this book.
