Payne’s view is what they should really stick to if they want to give Galadriel her full right characterisation. She is not tempted by the ring because that’s just what happens when Sauron’s involved, she is because he’s mirroring her lust for power. He is power.

Nobody cares about the dull romance between Galadriel and Celeborn—stop trying to force it. Meanwhile, Númenor is sidelined, and poor Elrond is pushed to the margins so that this insufferable character, who is completely devoid of charisma, can take center stage.

God, I just remembered the show opened with Galadriel punching another boy in rage in literal heaven, just to then recieve from her brother, the talk that would not only define her, but her journey "To find the light, we must first touch the darkness"+
