Rash judgement is the sin of drawing moral conclusions about a situation you can't possibly know enough about to make such judgements. It's a symptom of pride. Today I logged on to X to find people arguing about who to blame for an airplane that JUST crashed.
This confirms what so many Christian thinkers have been saying for a very long time: the beauty industry reduces the human person to a shallow image. The implication now, is that mere images are replaceable.

It’s been tough. I generally hate asking for help, but the bills are stacking up, and I don’t know what else to do. If you’re able, please consider helping us out.

There are only two groups who were consistent about covid. Those who said it was a deadly plague and followed everything and still do today.
And then those who understood it was a media driven panic not based in reality at all.
Only one was right.

This is how I feel when a driver in front of me let's someone in ahead of them.
There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture.
The wolf begged to be freed.
“I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!”
The shepherd cut the rope.
The next night, three lambs were gone.
Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness.
By winter, half the flock was dead.
An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?”
The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.”
The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.”
That’s the lesson.
Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.
People who say things like this must also believe the Trinity was invented in 325.
Catholic Mariology is a balancing act.
No verse says Mary was conceived without sin. Rome made it dogma anyway in 1854.
No verse says she was taken bodily into heaven. Rome made it dogma anyway in 1950.
Matthew 1:25 says Joseph did not know her "until" she gave birth. Rome says ever-virgin.
Every piece rests on "development of doctrine." It stands fine as long as nobody touches the table.
Open your Bible. Touch the table.
When I speak at conferences, I get asked by a lot of people to take a picture with them. I usually lean in, and since they're the one asking for the picture, this theory doesn't seem to hold.

✝️ Catholic coping mechanism: offer it up. 😎 #CatholicHumor
It's refreshing to hear a bishop address speak as though his back actually had bones in it.
Gosh, I’d love to attend this debate. But I’m pretty sure I have a MAGA rally to attend that night…
If you have any doubt that the German Catholic academy has fallen into clownish irrelevance, look no further than this inane and ginned-up “controversy.”
Last summer, the vaunted “protest” consisted of 25 desultory septuaginarians holding signs and a statement from the theological faculty of the University of Munster, which was at an undergraduate level of sophistication and which betrayed not the slightest indication of any familiarity with my work.
And yes, that sound you hear in the background is Josef Pieper turning in his grave.
