This week for #WeReadWednesday, we're totally hooked on superheroes! Not That Kind of Good Guy by @Jringo1508 and @caseymoops Conspiracy Theories Meet Superhero Reality ALL IT TAKES It’s there for anyone to see: There are dark forces at work on the world, working to destroy civilization. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to stand by and do nothing. We need a good guy. NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES—BUT SOME DO For a generation, individuals have arisen with super powers, able to change the course of history, or at least save a few lives. But these people have free will—and not all choose to work for the forces of good. We need someone with an unblotted escutcheon, a Galahad for the 21st Century, someone pure of ethics and morality. NOT THAT KIND OF GOOD GUY What we get is Michael: the product of a broken childhood, raised in the foster system of one of America’s most dangerous inner cities, his wisdom comes from drug addicts and whores. Maybe he’s not the hero we asked for, but he’s the hero we need. And he’s about to hit puberty. WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE by @Jringo1508 & @caseymoops (mass market) – CONSPIRACY THEORIES MEET SUPERHERO REALITY Dumped in an alleyway as a baby and raised in one of the most vicious inner cities this country has to offer, Michael Edwards' life changed forever when he acquired Earth powers and heard the words, “The Storm is Coming.” He trained those powers, forged a team with the other Junior Supers, and took down a vicious criminal. Then, he disappeared to hunt down the remains of that creature's gang on his own. Now, he's back in New York City. Not only is he looking for justice—no, vengeance—for what was done to his mother, but he also seeks the inheritance that's his due. Blocking the path to Michael's inheritance is The Society, a secret organization which runs most of the world and can best be described as pure evil. No teenage boy alive could possibly hope to bring down The Society on his own. Except, perhaps, for one Michael Edwards, aka Stone Tactical, aka Boogie Knight. The Society is about to get a visit, and they won’t know what hit them. baen.com/welcome-to-the-jung…. /5

Teenage superhero Mike Edwards, aka Stone Tactical, has been working hard to prepare for the Storm, but with one major problem—no one knows what the Storm actually is. All doubt is removed when a horde of city-sized sea creatures spontaneously appear throughout the world’s oceans to wreak death and destruction across all of the coasts. Mike rushes into action to save as many people as possible and find some way to deal with the legions of Kraken. But perhaps the most important battle is the one that comes after. This week for #WeReadWednesday, we're enjoying the best "idiots-to-lovers with dragons and griffins" out there! Rise from Ruin by @MelissaOlthoff When a prank bonds Harper Tavros to a fierce griffin instead of the dragon she always dreamed of, she must battle her doubts and rise to the front lines, forging an unbreakable alliance to save her country from impending doom. Together we fly, divided we fall. All Harper Tavros ever wanted was to be a dragon rider. But after a prank goes wrong, she ends up soul bonded to a griffin. Now, she'll have to learn an entirely new skillset before she ends up on the front lines of a war her country is slowly losing. If she's going to make a difference, she'll need to rise up from the ruin of her dreams and embrace a new path. One that includes her accidental bondmate, an utterly ridiculous, insanely brave griffin. But in order to form a strong enough bond to defend their country, they'll need to keep the pressures of war, loss, and doubt from tearing them apart. Because the only way Harper and her griffin will survive is together. What's going on this week at Baen Books? Since we have no convention appearances and we've finally cleaned up most of the glitter (you can never get it all) from the interns' decorating efforts, it's time for LibertyCon prep! We are going to let the interns pack the books that we are taking for the Baen Road Show and Prize Patrol and we *might* let them pick out some of the books as well. Normally this is the point where we say pray for us, but really, this time it's pray for you! Who knows, they may pack more than what's on the list we gave them... In addition to all of the amazing Baen authors who will be attending LibertyCon, some of our production, editing, acquisition, and social media staff will be there! Want to know more about how Baen does things? There will likely be someone there who can tell. you all about it! #BaenBooks #WhatsHappening #publishing #LibertyCon
