Just got maced and gassed with hundreds others by Seattle police on 11th & Pine. With no provocation. All the movement was demanding was: Let us march!
Shameful violence under Mayor Durkan. And the 30-day tear gas pause is totally meaningless.
Durkan Must Go. #DefundPolice

Worth repeating that all of the police violence you see happening right now has been happening for a long time before there were any camera phones to record it. It’s a daily phenomenon in communities across the country. It’s structurally embedded into how these forces operate.

A police officer pulls down a black man’s mask to pepper spray him! His hands were up, not behaving in any threatening way. This is outrageous.
I am heartbroken and disgusted to see one of my family members a young black man w/his hands up peacefully protesting and an NYPD officer pulls down his mask and pepper sprays him. @NYCSpeakerCoJo @BPEricAdams @FarahNLouis @JumaaneWilliams @NewYorkStateAG @NYPDShea cc: @EOsyd

All the experts say we need to greatly expand COVID-19 testing capacity to safely re-open America.
The White House promised 27 million tests by the end of March.
As of last week, only 4 million have been conducted.
Where are the tests?

But Pete gets to be the “Midwesterner” while the women who grew up poor in Oklahoma, went to public school, went to college as a single mom - is “elite” and “uppity.”
Cool.

If you’re reading this and you’re thinking that the ICE raid in Mississippi was justified because the 680 men and women apprehended are undocumented, and therefore in your eyes they are here “illegally” and we “have the right to enforce our laws,” you should know the following:

I always think, when I hear “I don’t have a racist bone in my body,” how close it cuts to national metaphor: it’s the very bones of this country that are racist—racism is skeleton on which economy, institutions, gov’t, norms were built. These bones are in all of our bodies.
