Best of luck to all our players competing at the college level this season! Many of you have been part of GVBA for years. Watching your growth from young athletes to college players has been incredibly special. We’re proud of the work, the journey, and the people you’ve become.

There are a lot of places players can get a "workout". We are different. Our Focus: Why. When. How. Decision Making. Competition & more. We aren't about players looking good in a workout. For over 20 years we've helped players at EVERY level become better basketball players. 📈🏀

Got after it tonight at 3x3! Players got more touches. More decisions. More opportunities to attack space. More defensive problems to solve. More advanced coaching.
Teach the skill → create the read → put the player in a situation where they have to solve the problem. #3x3 🏀

Trust the work, trust the process, and keep showing up even when the dream feels far away. 🏀 Your dream doesn’t need everyone else’s approval... keep working, keep believing, and go live the life you’ve been willing to work for.

The goal of skill development shouldn’t be perfection. It should be adaptability.
The game will never give a player the exact same closeout, passing window, defender, angle, or amount of space twice.
So why do so many workouts give players the exact same rep 20 times?
Repetition matters... but repeating the same answer to the same problem isn’t enough.
Great players can adjust the movement when the environment changes. Different pace. Different angle. Different defender. Different read. Don’t just build players who can execute. Build players who can adapt.

🏀 3x3 tonight. Real development means learning the why... spacing, timing, screening angles, when to screen, slip, re-screen or cut, and how to manipulate defenders.
We’re not just teaching players moves. We’re teaching them to read the game and make better decisions. 🧠🏀 #3x3

The influx of social media, highlight culture, and endless “exposure” camps has created a generation of young players being taught to showcase themselves instead of learning how to play.
Young players are often taught to “go get yours.”
I'd rather teach them to play.
Pass and cut.
Screen and re-screen.
Create an advantage.
Make the extra pass.
Defend without fouling.
Talk.
Rebound.
Make the right play.
Scoring is important. But learning how to play basketball is what ultimately allows you to score at higher levels. The game will always reward players who understand how to play it. 🏀🧠
