On this World Music Day, we celebrate a voice that has transcended generations, languages, and borders.
This tribute began as a dream while Asha Bhosle ji was still with us. We had hoped she would witness the love and gratitude this project carries.

It’s high time people realize that having an opinion or criticizing the government is not anti-national. If it were, the very essence of democracy would die.
The ruling government is not the Nation. Governments change but the Nation stays the same. Let people criticize the ruling party, only then will wrong things improve. If Congress comes to power next term, and you criticize them then, does that make you anti-national?
BJP is not Hinduism and not India. Criticizing BJP is not anti-Hindu or anti-national.
Wake up Youth of India. Direct your anger at real issues like inflation, rupee downfall, bad roads, water contamination, AQI and stop getting distracted by trivial topics. This week it’s #arrahman, next week it will be someone else. There’s always a scapegoat to take your attention away.

I am being misquoted and misread out of context in the matter of the Jai ho song . .. in my view @arrahman is the greatest composer and the nicest human being I ever met and he’s the last person to take away anybody’s credit ..I hope this puts an end to the negativism surrounding the issue

AR Rahman has spent decades building bridges through music.His journey has always been about harmony across cultures, faiths and generations. When such a voice speaks of bias, it reflects a deeper discomfort that cannot be brushed aside with outrage or silence. Respecting him means respecting the idea of India as open, plural and fair. A society confident in its diversity does not fear honest conversations. Standing with Rahman means standing with pluralism. Standing with music.

I stand with @arrahman. The deliberate targeting of a musician whose art transcends religion, language, and identity, and the shocking silence of those in authority in India, is deeply disturbing. Rahman is a creator and artist who carried the music of this country to the world, but also India’s foremost ambassador of culture and Indian values. He deserves respect and gratitude, not prejudice and hate. Such intolerance has no place in a democratic and plural society.
