in light of last week’s news about BioWare’s closure, I felt it was time to share something I haven’t talked about publicly: from April until last week, I was the art director of the Mass Effect franchise.

This is private equity, this is what it does. Buy up businesses, run them into the ground, and rip them apart for short-term profit. The developers at BioWare know how to run the studio. They know how to make the games we all love. They should be given the first opportunity - and the federal support - to buy it and run it themselves. And if we want to avoid the Mass Effect effect in Canada, we should be keeping private equity out, not welcoming it in. pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/…

Bioware has been a massive part of CDPR history. We befriended them when localizing and selling Baldur’s Gate games in Poland, Czech, and Slovakia. And later they were great help when lending us their engine for Witcher 1, sharing their wisdom and even giving us a spot at their booth at E3. I had a pleasure to visit them a few times in Edmonton and also host them in our Warsaw office. Very sad for the people affected, but also sad to see a legendary brand go down. Not a great day in the games industry.

Basically Meta is saying if you use their services at a professional capacity, they have the right to use and profit from any material of yours located anywhere on the internet. Insane.
%$&*!!! whoa. This reads that Meta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - once a company uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services after October 30, 2026. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

My uncle noticed his monthly water and sewage bill jumped from $85 to $290 over the last six months, even though his family didn't fill a single pool or leak a gallon. He called the municipal water board to report what he assumed was a meter error. The clerk explained that the city sold the local water treatment facility and underground main grid to an infrastructure equity fund last year to cover municipal budget deficits. When my uncle asked why that tripled his rate, she told him: "The private operator added a quarterly 'grid modernization surcharge' and an 'infrastructure maintenance access fee' to every residential account." Nothing about the pipes, pressure, or water quality improved. Private equity isn't just buying houses and daycares anymore. They are acquiring local utility monopolies so they can bill working families a mandatory tax on drinking water and flushing the toilet.

Even more depressing than the knowledge that congress is now overrun by effective altruist and overall TESCREAL cult member staffers, is the number of billionaires in these cults that are going to be created by the OpenAI and Anthropic IPOs.

So while you're thinking about a super human, super "intelligent" alien being killing you, here's what's really happening. Best believe Anthropic and OpenAI sales people are at hospitals telling them to use tools like this or get left behind. abc.net.au/news/2026-08-14/a…

And I'll just say it: If eugenics & racism weren't accepted as "rational," no one would touch these people with a 10 foot pole seeing what write in their forums, the race scientists they hold up & their eugenicist founder talking about "dysgenic (opposite of eugenic) pressures"

This is the real reason Barack Obama, Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi are suddenly touting their tech donor's scheme to try to infiltrate the Democratic Party - pass it on

The AI industry scraped our photos, music, films, writing, books, journalism, etc to build software to replace us using our stolen work as its backbone. It's impossible to see AI as legitimate when their business is built on the biggest intellectual property heist in history.

Back in 2015, I started posting video clips here, of a little mouse who speaks sign language. Over time, that became the Moss games at Polyarc. The best 8+ years of my career. Today, Polyarc closed. Moss is over. Quill is silent.

Perhaps the most "I've never worked in games before" comment of the year.😭 100s of millions, from the biggest publisher, transferring legal & financial burden from the largest console publisher, whilst waiting for truckloads of legal paperwork in 3 months? That's Messiah talk.
That it took Kojima 3 months to find a new sponsor for his physint project is quite telling that his development costs and development times start to create doubts in the industry.
