Congratulations to President Lula on a stunning, historic re-election. A political comeback that will be remembered for generations to come. This is a victory for the people, for the planet and for peace.

Big UK banks pocketed £29.2bn in 6 months while our bills went up! A windfall tax on bank profits would raise £19bn for our services. But banks and their lobbyists are trying to hard to block this. Sign the petition to #TaxtheBanks! you.38degrees.org.uk/petitio… via @38degrees

Please sign! A group of young Palestinians in Gaza did the impossible: amidst horror, rubble, and falling bombs, they earned university places and full scholarships in Ireland to rebuild their futures. But Irish authorities have denied their study visas. secure.avaaz.org/en/campaign…

This guy utterly dismantles the populist politics of Reform and Restore in 90 seconds. It’s actually quite beautiful. Take decades of deep-rooted problems in Britain and convince people that a relatively tiny proportion of the population is responsible for all of them. Housing, the NHS, crime. Blame illegal migrants for everything. Suddenly, you don’t need credible solutions to the housing crisis, NHS waiting lists or crime. You just need increasingly extreme policies on immigration. And by the time people realise you never had meaningful answers to the vast majority of Britain’s problems, you’re already in power, handing out tax cuts to your donors.

It has come to that: The witnesses are being prosecuted for the crime of having... witnessed the crime! This is a warning to every European. BEWARE: As a European citizen you may be prosecuted by a EU member-state for merely documenting suspect - often criminal - acts by the authorities of an EU member-state. The case of Tommy Olsen, and his current prosecution in Rhodes, Greece, should make us all ask again the most pertinent of questions: Who will protect us from our (supposed) protectors? WHO IS TOMMY OLSEN? Tommy Olsen is the Norwegian founder of Aegean Boat Report, an independent organisation established to monitor and document what happens to people crossing the Aegean Sea and arriving on the Greek islands. ABR documents arrivals, distress situations, disappearances, pushbacks and human-rights violations and provides information and documentation to journalists, lawyers and human-rights organisations. Olsen has been doing this important work since 2017. The criminal case concerns activities Greek authorities link to his work with refugees and people seeking asylum. TOMMY'S PROSECUTION The Greek authorities previously sought his surrender under a European Arrest Warrant. Olsen was arrested at his home in Tromso on 16 March 2026. On 15 May, the Halogaland Court of Appeal refused to surrender him. THE NORWEGIAN DECISION On 16 March 2026, Olsen was arrested in Norway under a European Arrest Warrant issued by Greece. Greece soughthis surrender for prosecution. On 15 May 2026, the Halogaland Court of Appeal refused surrender. Amnesty International reported that the court confirmed that the actions for which Olsen is prosecuted in Greece are not punishable under Norwegian law and that the charges represent a "real risk of violation of his freedom of expression". Human Rights Watch reported that the appeals court unanimously recognised that the acts described by Greek authorities did not constitute criminal offences under Norwegian law and that surrender would risk violating THE GREEK AUTHORITIES' CHARGES Greek counsel has confirmed the following public wording of the charges: 1. Establishing and participating in a criminal organisation. 2. Facilitating the unlawful entry into Greek territory of third-country nationals without the legally required border checks, jointly, in respect of multiple persons, for profit and on a professional basis. 3. Facilitating the unlawful stay of third-country nationals in Greek territory, in respect of multiple persons and for profit. Olsen denies the charges. LET'S END THIS TRAVESTY. PROSECUTE CRIMES. NOT THOSE WHO WITNESS THEM.

Remember last week when Sky published that to secret Starmer Number 10 strategy document? And they used it to explain how it showed Burnham was continuity Starmerism? Well if read that joyous document (which nobody seemed to do) you would have found out that many of Number 10's plans for a "reset" to grow the economy were basically plans to trash the climate and lived environment. My favourite plan was to accelerate the building of data centres through the use of "behind the meter" gas supplies. What's that, you ask in unison? Well that would involve allowing developers to build their OWN gas-fired power stations on the site of data centres. That's right - literally encouraging a massive expansion of local mini-power stations run on fossil fuels, pumping out emissions and increasing local pollution levels, to build mega-data centres... so that people like the Labour Party candidate in Holborn & St Pancras can use water-intensive AI to make a video about putting Thames Water "on notice." In the US, where this is already happening, studies show that data centres and mini-power stations pumping out pollution are sited in lower income neighbourhoods with predominantly black and Latino populations. And we know how much the Labour Right lives to copy America. So maybe Zack doesn't talk about the environment enough for your liking. But it seems whenever the Labour Party does, it's to explain why tech oligarchs need to trash it for short-term economic growth.
North london school gate mum here… Whereas I agree this is a huge concern, I’m sure many (like me) will wonder why it’s a sudden concern for Zack. He’s barely mentioned the environment for months. Certainly didn’t feature much on any of the Green Party leaflets during the local election campaigns 🤔 (I will not deny the fact I’m an obviously biased north london mum!)

I can’t remember being more disappointed by any politician. @andyburnham needs to abolish the House of Lords. It’s a vector for corruption. Because that’s what this is. A pay-to-play capture of a UK lawmaker by Silicon Valley’s worst firm.
