United absolutely should have been signing Alex Scott and Baleba last summer. Santos will be great and Tielemans will fill the Bruno gap once he leaves as a third midfielder, but we still don’t have any legs in the team. This guy was perfect.
Chelsea increasingly confident of signing Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott in January.
Scott is Chelsea’s top target after Enzo Fernandez’s left for Manchester City on deadline day over the summer.
Bournemouth want £100m+ and Xabi Alonso’s side are already in fresh talks having made multiple bids over the summer.
Liverpool also hold an interest in Scott, but have less urgency to add a midfielder in January. Monaco's Lamine Camara, who Chelsea failed to sign on deadline day, and Roma's Manu Kone are two other targets.🍒

The reason I want Conte at Manchester United is the same reason Real Madrid appointed Mourinho.
Madrid knew they needed someone ruthless to restore standards, discipline, and a winning mentality before anything tactical could work.

Of available options for #mufc, Conte is most logical but no direct approach and suspect club aren’t brave enough to go for him. If Eddie Howe was still at Newcastle, United would not be in for him. Shouldn’t be considered just because he’s available. Ditto Nagelsmann.

I don’t think Conte is the right manager for Man Utd, but he is uncompromising in his methods and I don’t trust the higher ups to bring the standards… I think he’s the only dude who comes in and salvages the season, having already done this once at Spurs.

If you needed any proof that these are the same players that just got a manager sacked, then there you go. ETH became a problem for various reasons and had to go. But so much is on the players and it’s largely mental. Lost the game in moments today through three soft goals.
Turns out the smell was indeed coming from INEOS.
Wilcox needs to go too, this was his decision and to not replace Amorim’s back room staff properly, to allow fitness and professional standards to slip between manager changes… that’s a club failure.

People with knowledge of Antonio Conte’s outlook say he is interested in taking charge of Manchester United but would want reassurances about his AUTHORITY before agreeing.
Several people close to United would be STUNNED if they went down the Conte route, given his hardline style and potential for more combustible episodes between the directors’ box and the dugout.
