Hey, I’m Swapnil
🎮 Building AI Mafia where
it's you vs AI voice agents
🎹 Building a tool that lets you learn any song on piano through a simple search of the song instead of digging through YouTube tutorial videos
Prev shipped full-stack products across web, mobile & AI.
feels bad to use ai for applying.
so have a classifier at the top of the search funnel:
- so all startups/good companies i wanna work at is in a list where i personally message them
- vs the rest job portals where i auto apply 80/90%

I've never been an exceptionally strong engineer. My mother was a systems analyst, and my first career was making comics. I'm good at seeing systems and seeing people operating inside them. And seeing where they can be safer, faster, better.
I fail coding interviews, partly due to test anxiety, partly due to inexperience, and thus my anxiety led to less experience and finally to roles like dev education, building out react.dev and reactnative.dev with teams of excellent engineers I sponged knowledge off of.
My mind was always faster than my fingers (read: typos), ideas bigger than a work week alone. Now, at long last, I can do everything I know needs to be done, unencumbered by the inertia of interpreting cryptic git problems and debugging error logs or convincing people to give me resources.
So, now I build mima.social. It's so good to chew on these problems, make a delightful interface, talk with real users again. It's amazing.
But I have no idea how I would analyze myself or another engineer now. Benchmarks? Token consumption? Ability to solve a problem from first principles? General detective work?
And I wonder, was my previous job before going all in on Mima the last job I'll have in the tech industry?

The coding interview is dead, at least for my team at Anthropic. I've seen enough to know that it no longer provides signal. I removed it from loops this month.
I have a spicy, optimistic take - I think there's an opportunity for junior engineers: felixrieseberg.com/hunger-be…

the secret to life is to deliberately expose urself to higher levels of suffering until lower level suffering becomes irrelevant. Otherwise, u'll spend ur entire life crying over trivial pain, achieving nothing worthy of it. Increase ur threshold.

My friends make fun of me (in a good way) calling me the sabbatical guy. I encourage people to take sabbaticals, start businesses, or generally do something exciting and explore life a bit more.
If you work a shitty job, get your head out of autopilot and put all your energy into finding something fun. Imagine having to spend major chunk of your day in a shitty job.
There is more to life than work. When you continue operating in autopilot, it's hard to see that. Give yourself time to be bored.
Life is short. Don't spent it arguing with wrong people on Slack (or even worse teams).
You don't need to fully know what you should do. If you know what you don't want to do, start by quitting those.

While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected.
Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions.
Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent.
But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models?
We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem.

Here’s a skill for that:
/be-ambitious
made my terminal understand English. type "find all files over 1G", a 3B model on my laptop turns it into the real command, Enter runs it. no cloud, no API key, 17/20 right on CPU. ~8ms if you've asked before. it's called cola 🥤

I built my own harness for video editing and motion design
It writes the story, storyboards it, animates it, and drops everything straight into a timeline in your favorite editor
It can call Blender for 3D, Seedance if you need Al shot, or ElevenLabs for voice though I used none of that for this one because I wanted it to feel hand-made
Can't wait to push it further
First result that I'm pretty happy with :

Just pasted 3 mins of me blabbering to Ken, it edited to 1 min video with infographics and captions in one shot, all while talking over telegram on a walk.

One word - how? Feels like this can never be me
the opportunity cost of not working on maximally fun and exciting things is too huge
having fun is like a 10x multiplier on your creativity, intelligence, charisma and just overall lifeforce
so everytime you are not engaging in maximal fun you are missing out on that upside and 0.1x’ing your life
discipline and routine only gets you so far, it only ever helps you sustain your baseline or maybe a slight boost so 1.0-1.2x your lifeforce
so there’s no time to waste, go and do the fun thing and 10x your lifeforce
well my answer is smile through pain (often forcefully but that helps) and just do anything for 30 minutes pushing and then work lets you get lost in flow - pulling.
