Conferences should be open platforms. Orgs choose speakers but should not restrict anyone from participating. And vice versa: someone attending or speaking is not an endorsement of their opinions and political views. We have code of conduct (be respectful) and the law, and this is enough.
Many of you asked why I was not at EuRuKo, even though I was posting about going for a while.
Now that the event is over, I wrote a blogpost about what happened and how cancel culture is still present in the community.

Seems like Ruby is pretty well positioned as a language that is token-efficient when used with LLMs.

<rant> A periodic reminder that Sprints, Backlogs, Daily Scrums, Scrum Boards, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Points, Velocity, PIs, etc., have NOTHING AT ALL to do with "Agile." Agility comes from working small, delivering frequently for feedback from actual customers, and adapting based on that feedback. It has to do with teams working in whatever way they see fit to get stuff into the customer's hands as quickly as possible and acting on the feedback without bureaucratic obstacles. Any way that you can accomplish that is fine. All that garbage I listed in the first sentence just gets in your way.</rant>

[ENG] 🌴 Tropical on Rails 2026 Tickets
Starting with this edition, Tropical on Rails is adopting a new ticket pricing model, aligned with what international events like RailsWorld and RailsConf already use.
Instead of time-based batches, we now have different ticket types, each with a specific purpose:
🐦 Early Bird — R$ 499.00
Discounted tickets for the first attendees to secure their spot.
Limited quantity and available only while supplies last.
Limit of 1 per purchase.
🎟️ General Admission — R$ 649.00
Designed for individuals purchasing their own tickets and attending independently (not through a company).
Limit of 2 per purchase.
💼 Corporate Ticket — R$ 899.00
Intended for companies purchasing tickets for their employees and supporting the event institutionally.
Limit of 30 per purchase.
Smaller subsidy.
Both Tropical on Rails and our sponsors continue to subsidize part of the cost of all ticket types, as the ticket price does not fully cover the investment required to make the event happen.
[PT-BR] 🌴 Ingressos Tropical on Rails 2026

It's done! I shipped 45 videos for the Phlex on Rails course @BeautifulRubyHQ.
Why did I do it?
Because too many teams reach for React when what they really want is a way to build UIs in Rails with components.
Phlex delivers that without the complexity of JavaScript.
