The ILR debate really hits home how far Labour and the unions have drifted from their founding purpose. The main reason there's been a shortage of care workers is because the pay is too low, the work isn't respected, and it's no longer a structured career. Care homes just want minimum wage workers, and they don't care about ability or suitability just so long as they maximise their profit margins. Labour and the unions should want to correct this, not least to restore dignity for the elderly. Personally I do not want to spend my dying days in a care home tended to by random untrained Africans who are just here to exploit the visa system. Labour should want the care sector to be a viable career and an adequately paid profession, but now wages are so low that you can make the same money working at McDonalds with none of the physical and emotional labour. Propping the care sector up with low wage immigrant labour so private equity care homes can maximise their profits is more in line with a neoliberal hellscape than anything resembling a Labour run country.

One reason why multiculturalism failed is its shallow interpretation of culture. Culture isn’t curry and clothes. Culture is values, worldview, history, ideas, religion, rules, beliefs, norms, laws, traditions, language, the ingrained habits and instincts of a hundred generations. Different cultures = different peoples

Perhaps France ought to contemplate joining the EU. I've heard it controls immigration, bringing peace and prosperity to all its disciples.

Only the BBC could devise a funding model where the solution to people not watching your programmes is to charge them for watching somebody else's. Under this logic, every time I order a Domino's, I should send Pizza Hut £2.50 to support the future of British pizza.

There is a cover-up at the heart of Government. Ministers have been forced to admit that the “missing” Islamophobia definition documents do exist. After pressure from the Free Speech Union and Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy, Angela Rayner’s Communities department has conceded that documents that helped shape the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition still exist, despite previously saying they had been destroyed. It now seems almost certain that the Government tried to bury evidence that could show whether Islamist extremists helped draft what amounts to Britain’s de facto Islamic blasphemy law. The Free Speech Union has warned that this non-statutory definition will be used — and is already being used — by activists, public bodies and authorities to silence legitimate criticism and debate about Islam, its history and its practices. A review ordered by Will Garton, the top civil servant at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, found that responses to the Working Group’s consultation on the definition do exist and are “still held on the department’s systems”. The Free Speech Union threatened the department with a judicial review unless it revealed who had been given the chance to influence the definition. Enough is enough. There can be no more excuses. Angela Rayner must come clean about what on earth is going on under her watch. Read more below 👇

Please stop calling them “small boats”. The vessel that landed in Gosport carried almost enough invaders to fill an Airbus A321. Nobody would describe that as a “small plane”. Terrorists and murderers are being welcomed by Labour. SECURE OUR BORDER NOW

The massive influx of young fighting age men from Middle Eastern countries is now becoming rather sinister. First of all they are escorted to their boats by French police. Then they are escorted across the Channel by French and British Coast Guards. Then they are met by a fleet of coaches to transport them to their hotels, all under the protection of the British police. Don’t tell me this can happen without the collusion and agreement of our government. The British public are prevented from protesting about this, and are arrested if they try. It is becoming a very dubious, dangerous situation, but the main question is - WHY ARE THE GOVERNMENT ALLOWING IT TO HAPPEN ?

The planning, timing and arrangements put in place for Gosport suggest the boat crossings were known in advance and prior to launch of at least some of the boats. This cannot be described as migrants in inflatables evading the authorities; it appears the state is actively involved in the organised trafficking of migrants from coast to coast.

The basic reason why immigration is such a toxic issue in the UK, and why it won’t settle down soon, is there is no popular consent for it, and the elite do not care. Every time the British public have been asked, they have demanded substantial reductions. The debate hasn’t shifted, they have simply been overruled by an elite that considers borders illegitimate. With an absolutely straight face they offer legal routes as a solution to illegal migration - the possibility of simply not letting people in just doesn’t occur to them. Perhaps, they hope, they can contain the seething anger of the British people they have betrayed long enough to tip the demographic balance, and have a voting bloc of new arrivals to keep them in power.

Imagine a country that imports unknown men from unknown places with unknown pasts, then quietly disperses them so no one notices. Imagine a government that builds the system to make it happen. Imagine jailing people for objecting. Now open your eyes. It’s not you’re imagination..

Mate, I can’t afford to fuel my car, insure it and put decent, healthy food in my fridge and heat my home effectively and you’re out here worrying about the cost of flights. You’re a fucking moron.
You know that feeling when you book a flight for 50 quid and somehow it ends up costing 100? Getting seats together, correcting a typo, another charge here and there, it all adds up. When the cost of living is already squeezing people, those endless extras can feel relentless. So we're changing the rules for you. Parents won't need to pay a penny extra just to sit next to their own children. You'll be able to fix any name errors on your booking free of charge. And because the last thing you want once you're on the plane is more stress, we're working with the industry to make sure that disruptive passengers who have been banned from one airline can be banned from flying with other airlines too. I know holidays are expensive and these are small things, but hopefully they'll make your trip just that little bit cheaper and easier. That's exactly the kind of thing I want this government to keep on fixing.

It is pretty sickening watch Shabana Mahmood roll out countless new routes for people from around the world to migrate into Britain while illegal migration is still out of control and it is crystal clear from every poll the British people want immigration reduced.

Can we please bring back THE HUMAN BEING? I don't want a chatbot. I don't want 14 menu options. I don't want to download another app. I don't want to “visit our help centre”. I WANT TO SPEAK TO A PERSON. Surely I cannot be the only one?

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME LIKE I’M IN KINDERGARTEN Why did we replace every bulb with LED, bought Energy Star appliances, built massive solar and wind farms, kept the lights off, lowered the thermostat, and yet the electric bill keeps climbing? We did everything they told us to do, and somehow the only thing getting more efficient is how fast they take our money.
