We have been fortunate to have several years with excellent House Budget Chairs in @cody4mo and now the last two sessions, @DirkEDeaton.
As he terms out, I'm going to miss having Rep. Deaton in the House. If there was ever anyone who epitomized the saying, "still waters run deep," it is he (with the occasional smirk and turn of a phrase).
Unflappable in even the most heated debates - and one of the most free market, principled conservatives you will find in the state. (We've been blessed with several of those in my neck of the woods.)
I've always had a deep appreciation for those who serve in the legislature and have young families. It is a great sacrifice with little thanks.
So thank you, Dirk (and Nikki). I look forward to seeing what comes next for you (and I selfishly hope eventually it finds you in the senate or something similar).

10. Final rule: Keep perspective. Your district matters more than you. That’s why no last names are used on the Floor. Bring your kids to the Capitol frequently. You will be a hero in their eyes. And try to leave the state a little better than you found it.
Good luck!

Every year I wonder what I could/should say about 9/11. I always come back to Todd Beamer.
May we never forget those lost on 9/11 and especially the heroes who gave their lives to save others. I truly believe there will always be more good amongst the evil.
“Let’s roll!”
So proud of you, Cathy Jo. I could think of nobody finer to represent the people of the 163rd District.

No one knows more about the Missouri budget. Being House Budget Chair for 6 of his 8 years in the Missouri House is not an accident. He has been an excellent steward of Missouri taxpayer dollars through some of our most challenging times.
Vote Cody Smith for Treasurer on Aug 6.
Missourians deserve a trusted conservative for Treasurer.
✅Passed the largest tax cut in Missouri history
✅Defunded Planned Parenthood
✅Sent the Missouri National Guard to Texas to defend our southern border
✅Cut spending by $2billion
Sometimes I think the Democrats say it best about my time as Budget Chair.
But it’s not the government’s money. It’s your hard-earned money. And you deserve a State Treasurer who understands that government must live within its means, not go on spending sprees.
We had a great group join us for our Super Saturday GOTV! It was a perfect day for knocking doors.
We talked to hundreds of voters in support of our State Treasurer campaign along with Vanessa Bruton for Jasper County Treasurer and @CJheartart for State Repesentative.

I spent some time this week knocking doors in St. Charles County with my good friend @phlchristo who is running for State Senate.
