Donald Trump wanted to rename the Atlantic Ocean either 'Trump' or 'America' Ocean, but capitulated after speaking with Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
"Oceans are different, sir. They cover really a lot of countries. Please donโt ask us to do that," Pichai reportedly said.

Elizabeth Holmes once stood on a stage and said her company's blood test could see cancer coming 17 years before you ever got sick.
She got that number from dead people.
Back in 2014, at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, she told the audience Theranos had worked with people at Johns Hopkins who showed you could see pancreatic cancer in blood "17 years before a tumor forms."
There really was a Hopkins study with a number like that. It came out in Nature in 2010, and the way they got the number is pretty incredible. Christine Iacobuzio-Donahue and Bert Vogelstein took tumors from seven pancreatic cancer patients through a rapid autopsy program, which means the tissue was collected right after each person died. Then they read the mutations inside it.
Here's why that works. Every time a cell divides, it picks up new mutations at a pretty steady rate. If you count the mutations, you can work backward and figure out how long the cancer has been growing, kind of like counting the rings on a tree.
They found it took about 11.7 years to go from the first bad mutation to the first real cancer cell, then another 6.8 years before it turned into a tumor about the size of a plum. Add that up and you get around 18 years of cancer quietly growing in someone who feels totally fine.
The researchers said this might someday give doctors enough time to catch it with a blood or stool test. That test didn't exist yet. Holmes took a maybe, based on tissue from people who had already passed, and told a room full of people her company had already done it in blood. When 60 Minutes called Johns Hopkins years later, Hopkins said it had never worked with Theranos.
She also picked the one cancer where that kind of promise hits hardest. Pancreatic cancer still has a 13% five-year survival rate in 2026, the worst of any major cancer. If doctors find it while it's still in the pancreas, survival jumps to 44%. Only about 17% of people get diagnosed that early, because there's still no good way to screen for it.
Hopkins actually shows up in the Theranos story twice. When Walgreens was deciding whether to put Theranos in its stores, it brought in a Hopkins team to check out the technology. One of the Hopkins scientists told Holmes they'd need one of her machines in their lab in Baltimore. She said sure. The machine never showed up. The review was done using data Theranos handed over, and according to Walgreens' lawsuit, it called the technology "novel and sound." Walgreens went ahead with the deal.
That's how she got away with it for so long. Anyone could look up the Hopkins study, and her 17 years was close to the real math. The one thing nobody in that room could check was whether her machine could see any of it, and that was the part she invented.
There's a scene in Nathan Fielder's new documentary where he asks her what her definition of a lie is. She'd already answered it on that stage back in 2014.

Been seeing some SF coffee tier lists floating around, and coffee is like 50% of my personality so heres mine. SF has maybe the best coffee scene in America, mostly because of the density of talented baristas (SF consistently places top 5 in the US barista championships!)
