They are not long, the days of wine and roses:
Out of a misty dream
Our path emerges for a while, then closes
Within a dream.

I just hope at some point we are able to know which companies accept and sell this Russian fuel so we can launch an aggressive and permanent nationwide boycott of them.

Fox: Why are you here this morning?
Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

Trump on Pete Hegseth: "He's going a great job. I think he's the best at his job in many many years."

A useful razor for evaluating the current moment, especially in regards to tech, is considering how stupid it's going to look in 5, 10, or 25 years. I can't help but think this will all seem like an age of hucksters and manipulators. And yeah, moreso than usual.

Republicans in the senate who wrecked the economy, exploded the deficit, gave tax cuts to billionaires, and refused to stop Trump’s tariffs, massive corruption, stupid war, ICE killings, and incompetent unqualified appointments, have only stupid culture war lies to peddle.

A massacre in the Dnipro passenger railway station today. A guided Russian drone targeted a crowded platform, killing at least 13 people and injuring many others, as per city officials.
But diesel. But Russia wants peace. But don’t you dare hit their refineries.

New in PN: The GOP’s endless culture war slop is a sign of desperation
"Republicans are offering a slop buffet because Trump ruined the economy and they have no policy achievements to tout. So they chose instead to demonize anyone who deviates from how white, male, Christians look, act, think, or pray, even if the demons must be invented." publicnotice.co/p/republican…

BREAKING: The Nov. 15 closure at East Potomac Park is bigger than the golf course.
Latest DOJ filing: "On November 15, 2026, the National Park Service will close East Potomac Park south of Buckeye Drive, including the Golf Course, consistent with the President's directive."
That takes in nearly all of Hains Point — the running loop, the bike and pedestrian lane, the picnic areas. Not just the 36 golf holes.
The stated reason for closing that much: a seawall "currently crumbling into the Potomac River." The government says that closure "must occur in all events" — regardless of the golf course redesign.
The filing doesn't say how long the park stays closed.
Also in it: the Park Service signed a new lease with National Links Trust today. NLT stops operating East Potomac on or before Nov. 15 — but keeps running Rock Creek and Langston.
The filing then says the course must close "because there will be no company to operate that course."

These people are so horrible. Plans are finally coming out - NPS submitting Washington National Plan to National Capital Planning Commission this Friday, to be reviewed at Dec 3 meeting.
All of East Potomac Park south of buckeye drive is closing November 15th.
Apparently it is closing because the sea wall poses “a safety hazard in a state of significant disrepair”
