This case is an outrage that should remind everyone there are actual victims of Trump’s abuses of power - in this case, former FBI agents who did nothing wrong but were targeted by their government because Trump, Blanche, and Patel wanted a story for right wing media right before an election.
BREAKING: "What has transpired here cannot be described as anything other than weaponization," a federal magistrate said in dismissing a politically charged criminal complaint against two former FBI over testimony to Congress about Hunter Biden. More here

The simmering fight over House Republican leadership is about to boil over in the next 36 hours.
Johnson will spend Election Night in Shreveport, La. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise will be in New Orleans. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer will be in D.C. – as of now, Democratic leaders will also be in Washington.
Johnson and Scalise, who both traveled with Trump Sunday, will face big decisions quickly. If Republicans lose the majority, Johnson and Scalise may be on a collision course, and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is eyeing a run for minority leader too.
In the last few weeks, Johnson has said the polls are all wrong, Republicans could expand their majority, and it’s “hilarious” to think that Democrats can get to 230 seats.
Inside the House Republican Conference, there are competing theories on whether Johnson would seek another term if Republicans lose badly. He has been calling GOP lawmakers to tout his expensive travel for House Republicans, leading some to believe he’s keeping his options open.
Scalise’s orbit is certain that Johnson won’t run. Scalise has told some lawmakers that he’ll run for leader if Johnson won’t. But we think there’s a chance that Scalise will run even if Johnson does.
Lurking behind all of this is Jordan, who has quietly built support for years, essentially since losing his 2023 speakership bid.
Simultaneously, the GOP leadership is also getting involved in a series of other battles. Emmer is backing Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas), who is running to be the House Oversight Committee’s top Republican against Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas). Many of these committee contests will become extensions of the leadership fights.

Speaker Mike Johnson will be in McAllen, Texas. Before polls close Tuesday, he’ll visit North Carolina’s 1st District, where Republican Laurie Buckhout is trying to unseat Rep. Don Davis (D-N.C.) and North Carolina’s 3rd District, where Rep. Greg Murphy (R-N.C.) is facing former state Rep. Raymond Smith. Trump won Murphy’s district by 14 points.
Johnson will also be in Virginia campaigning for GOP Reps. Jen Kiggans (R-Va.) and Rob Wittman (R-Va).
Overall, Johnson has campaigned with 91 candidates and incumbents at more than 90 events across 24 states in the last month alone.

Just a reminder as we approach Election Day: a small handful of Republicans in Congress could stop this chaos tomorrow. They simply choose not to.

When @mccaffreyr3 speaks, I listen. You should too.
Mr Trump wavering on the edge of a terrible strategic mistake. The MidTerms may deliver a Democratic Congress in January. The US blockade has not collapsed the economy. 20,000 air sorties have not opened the Gulf. Trump now planning a three day renewed air war in November. It will be an escalation disaster.

It was President Biden that saved the Teamsters Pension Fund, you ungrateful fuck.
Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien here. Just voted in the State of Florida for the first time, and very proud to have cast a ballot for @SenAshleyMoody. Sen. Moody has been extremely helpful working with the Teamsters to protect workers’ pensions, defend good-paying jobs, and support well-funded union apprenticeship programs. The Teamsters look forward to working with Sen. Moody in her role on the Senate HELP Committee to pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act and get this critical legislation signed into law to protect American workers.

You don't actually need to say Haley Stevens' name anymore.
We'll also accept THE BRIDE OF FETTERMAN;
but I also liked Fetterwoman and even WoManchin.
And now, a taste of forever:

People saying Haley is putting country over party. She’s not. She’s putting herself over both.

Today, Haley Stevens endorsed Donald Trump’s most savage policies—the brutalizing of Hispanics, the killing of US citizens in American streets, the launching of endless wars, the gutting of Michigander’s health care, his war on civil rights, higher gas prices, more expensive groceries, less health care, and endless corruption. A vote for Mike Rogers is a vote for Donald Trump. End of story.

I’m just going to assume that Hakeem Jeffries will begin the process of stripping Haley Stevens of her committee assignments as soon as possible.

I spoke with Haley Stevens yesterday.
Feeling a bit absurd in pointing out the obvious and being far kinder than I should have been, I reminded her that the outcome of this senate race will be viewed in the light of a future Supreme Court vacancy, and I expressed a hope that all of us understand the stakes.
She assured me she's supporting Dr. El-Sayed, sent me a video of a recent speech she gave blasting Mike Rogers and said this: "Still stands. I promise."
She also said she's been sending this video to other folks to make it clear where she stands on this race.
Again: that was yesterday.
I have known Haley Stevens for years. I have counted her as a friend and an ally. We've had many thoughtful conversations about this country, and she has never failed to remind me that her mother is a fan of my writing.
Whatever other political differences we have, she has always made it clear to me she would stand with LGBTQ people. It was a red line she refused to cross.
Instead, she has made the inexplicable decision to endorse a man who views LGBTQ Americans as second-class citizens unworthy of full equality.
I can't help but wonder what her mother must be thinking right now.
I have no idea what has happened to the person I thought I knew, but clearly, she has completely taken leave of her senses in endorsing a Republican who is little more than a Trump sycophant -- less than 24 hours after promising me that she has not wavered from the bigger picture.
I am disgusted with her cynicism and cowardice in this moment. God forgive me for trusting her.
If you're a Michigan voter and as disgusted as I am, get to your polling place and vote for Dr. El-Sayed.

It’s truly insane that over the Trump era where the GOP fully gave in to white nationalism, turned the government into a 3rd world kleptocracy and instigated a sacking of the capitol and I can’t think of a single GOP primary loser who endorsed the Democrat?
