Even wilder is how the Nextdoor mob thinks an increase in crime was caused by a policy passed in June of 2020 despite the fact that crime was fluctuating BEFORE 2020. This is basic. Here are two metrics that illustrate that. This is a master class in how to not do civics

Here’s the final rule published by @DDOTDC today regarding micromobility safety, accessibility, and operator accountability - these go into effect beginning today (October 23, 2026):
Ddot can limit a susbidy size with some rational( albeit a weak one here). DDOT cannot establish whatsoever from usage data alone which trips lack value.
1- What evidence demonstrates that limiting subsidized riders to 300 min per month will meaningfully reduce the safety issues the policy is intended to address?
2- Why is restricting access to subsidized transpo being prioritized over interventions targeting the actual misuse?
Interesting: @DDOTDC has finalized rules changing the discount program for low-income residents for e-scooters and e-bikes offered by companies like Lime. Instead of unlimited rides under 30 minutes, those riders will now get 300 minutes a month.
mind boggling to think council members will not vote yes on a bill bc they will lose revenue stemming from the doubling of fines...
They are banking on the revenue of ppl not being able to pay their fines expeditiously.
