The administration came out and said they were going after H1B abusers. Is it going to be related to walking Americans off jobs and walking H1B right into them claiming they couldn't find an American? Is it going to involve the biggest employers of them - or is it going to be a body shops and fake jobs? Either way lets be honest, it's great to see it and it will never be enough as long as the program exists and only congress can end it, but are we going to be delighted or amused?

A real W-2 and a real tax return require a number that matches a person. For unauthorized workers that number is almost always stolen, fabricated, or used in ways the rules do not allow. Cash work skips the number and the tax. Formal payroll on a stolen Social Security number is identity theft. The wages hit a citizen’s or a child’s record. The illegal alien files and claims dependents. The American gets the IRS notice. The employer certified the documents on the I-9. That is not paying taxes like everyone else. That is using someone else’s name to stay on a payroll they were never supposed to be on. If you know a company is running that arrangement, report it. Give ICE the facts. Company name. Address.
