Also, remarkably Yamakawa and Zhandry even showed that for search rather than decision problems, in a closely related setting there can be exponential quantum query speedups on random inputs.

See objectively Bob Dylan has a superior authority than the Pope. The Pope is a fan of Bob Dylan. This is how the real world works.

bitcoin has been the last resort buyer of energy for over a decade instead of storing / transporting stranded residual energy which will be expensive and suffer losses - just use it to mine bitcoin good load balancer for overbuilt datacenters

not only am i not worried about the crypto community's ability to handle the upcoming ai/quantum threat, i will venture to say that in the next 2 yrs the world will realize crypto is far better prepared for it than the rest of the internet and finance. we've had a trillion dollar *irreversible* honey pot for a decade, producing a far more battletested system and adversarial security culture than pretty much anywhere else on earth.

Ours is the first generation that finds itself with an abundance of commodified intelligence and a lack of social intelligence Agency is the last moat in existence Everyone can do the thing, learn the thing, sell the thing - but few will actually do any of it.

Open AI you might call it. Your right to compute requires open source
Training a leading AI model demands enormous computing power, data, and technical talent. Open-weight and open-source AI models let other organizations start from a working foundation instead of repeating that expense. This matters for startups, universities, and researchers. @neil_chilson

Hugely bullish for local AI and personal freedoms if true
Qualcomm CEO reveals AI companies want phones running 100-billion-parameter models continuously by 2028--and confirms some are building phones Cristiano Amon: “I have to be careful not to disclose names, but some AI companies—some of the companies at the forefront of AI—are telling Qualcomm, ‘By 2028, I need to make sure that I have the ability to run at least a 100-billion-parameter model in a phone, and I need to have this thing running kind of all the time.’” Alex Heath: “So you’re saying there are AI companies that are talking about—” Cristiano Amon: “Well, AI companies are starting to do phones.”

Nvidia’s bet is quite simple: If all AI tokens are generated by OpenAI and Anthropic, they will run on Trainium and Jalapeño, not Nvidia If open source models proliferate, and are designed to run cheaper on GPUs, Nvidia succeeds Open source is existential for Nvidia’s survival

AI inference could grow from $160B to $350B next year, overtaking databases as the largest market in software. For software companies, that could mean margins closer to 30–50% than the usual 72%.

Crypto is both a cultural phenomenon and a technological transition Meme assets, prediction markets and most tokens fit on the cultural side. I think the biggest mistake folks will make being in the industry is not paying attention to the technological impact it is creating.
